I've met a lady with permanent genital arousal disorder, the clinical name for nymphomania and it blighted her life, it ruined her marriage and affected her work and every one of her relationships. She would chew up guys and spit them out again, be careful what you wish for |

I had a girlfriend in my teens who was exactly that. She would find any excuse, in virtually any place to drag me off into a corner, room, cupboard, field.....whatever just so I could fuck her, finger her, lick her or anything.
It actually got to the point where I was sick of it...and I dumped her!
Now at my age .....I would love to find another, if only for a while lol! |

Men don't have 'nymphomania' they have 'satyriasis'.
But the point stands. You never hear men described as a 'sat' (or even a 'nymph' if people don't know better). You never hear it desirable to fuck a man with the mental disorder hypersexuality.
If women want lots of sex they are broken. Damaged. Mentally ill. Nymphomaniacs. If men want lots of sex they are studs. |

Was the OP referring to nymphomaniacs in a negative sense? He was simply asking if they exist. If it is a medically recognised condition, I expect it only becomes negative if it affects everything else in life. As to whether men are called studs, that says as much about the person calling them as it does about the person they are calling. Why do we feel the need to label everything? |

Another definition of a nymphomaniac is a woman that wants more sex than her partner. It's not a strict medical definition but more of an explanation for a guy who can't keep up with his partners higher sex drive. |

Hypersexuality (nymphomania) is a medical condition that does indeed affect everything in your life. It's more serious than even a sex addition. It's a compulsive urge to have sex that you cannot control, it's desperately unfulfilling, and it promotes riskier and riskier sex as the person tries to get to the next 'high' from sexual activity. It will mean the person most likely won't be able to hold down "normal" jobs, friendships, or family life.
You wouldn't *want* to sleep with a nymphomaniac. It could mean you are being put into risky situations with her, things that could affect your physical and mental wellbeing. As I said, wanting to fuck someone with hypersexuality is as bizarre as wanting to fuck someone diagnosed with other severe mental illnesses. Aside from anything else - you're helping them get their 'fix'. Think of it as being more like you handing over drugs to a heroine addict. |

That may be a colloquial "definition", but it's not what he word means.
When dealing with mental health terms it's best to reserve those terms for people who actually have the illness.
"I'd like to meet a woman with a higher sex drive than me" is a much better way of putting it than "I'd like to meet someone with nymphomania". |

Some of us just like to talk about the fact that women are routinely subjected to sexist assumptions, even within the swinging scene. By challenging these assumptions we make it better for all of us. You, me, the OP, the other people in this thread, everyone.
I mean, telling someone to 'liven the fuck up' when it comes to ingrained sexism is about as cool as telling someone to 'liven the fuck up' about ingrained racism. You wouldn't do it with one - so don't do it with the other. |

I had a gf a while back who had a very high sex drive, its amazing at the start what any man could dream off but over a long time its hard if you don't have the same sex drive level, after a year of being woken up every night and sometimes twice a night for sex after a day of having it as much as possible it did start to effect me, I was always tired and everything else in my life had taken a massive step backwards I just didn't have the time for it, we are still good friends now and she always reminds me after a few drinks I couldn't keep up and that she drained the life out of me lol |

Mr says similar where I am concerned, in that all other women he has had a relationship with have gone off sex after a while. I have a very high sex drive .... but he keeps up! It doesn't interfere with our lives in any way, shape or form, although we can be very tired at work the next day and often need a day of long naps at the weekend to keep refreshed.
