Probably because the bathroom is the only room in the house with a lock on the door and his wife can't walk in and catch him at it.

My theory is they are sitting there having a dump and suddenly realize they forgot to bring their Daily Sport in with them to read.

To avoid boredom they resort to photographing their willy.
