I disagree somewhat.
The forums are for us all, some will respond genuinely, some will poke a little fun, some are varying shades of obnoxious... the trick is to ignore the ones who post on your threads you don't like, not poke them with a stick in the hope they will move on, 'cause they wont.
So to answer, I've done it a couple of times and it can be fun with the right person I would say.
No substitute for the real thing of course.  |

I find phone sex a lot like giving oral, usually one person is getting most of the pleasure out of it.
