Just a quick question to everyone. Do you prefer to recive a wink or a message? Also would you ignore people who send winks thinking they are just being lazy?

Would like to know what you fabbers think.

Winks serve a purpose. Shows an interest. I guess more so couple to couple, F to couple and F to M.

Men will probably be ignored

We use winks as a way of showing an intrest in a profile.

If we get one back we follow it up by a message.

Makes it nice and simple we think

As a bloke you got to take what you can and what you get.

Single girls prob prefer messages, they get so much attention that winks can come across as lazy and impersonal.

i think sending a message is the way to go because that way you can convey what is exactly that you wish to say and that can't be expressed in a wink

We've messaged several couples to thank them for the wink, only to be ignored, still can't work it out. We've also returned a wink with a wink and got no response at all. Messages are so much more straight forward

Unfortunately I just don't have time to look at winks! Very occasionally I'll take a quick peek - but I only look at the profile if there's an eye-catching avatar (ie a great torso or good looking face)

That is weird when they wink you, so you send a message then that's it!! Perhaps meets can be arranged through winks and no one told us yet

Like both although I do prefer a message. Had the odd case where I got a wink from someone but was not able to message them to say thank you as I was outside their range. Pity.

But overall, messages are better.

Hardly look at winks but when I do.. It's usually from people with no public pictures or nothing on profile.... Or I don't match what THEY are looking for.. So where do you go from there?

The odd one I will have a look look at profile.. And have messaged one

When I have pictures public I will send winks now and then but I like to message... And be messaged

I was a bit smashed up from rugby last year so was off for a few weeks.....i send 100+ personally constructed messages to people that matched with my profile.

Got one reply!!!

So i wink now and only message if they wink back...

Personally I hardly respond to a wink. Prefer a message that shows my profile has been read.

To the guy who thinks single men should just take what they get .... I don't think so!

I rarely reply to a wink, normally if I do its because the person winking has no profile pics. So I'll message asking what I'm supposed to wink back at?

If a person/s genuinely interested they will message you.

I accept there are lots of single guys on here, but I certainly don't just accept any form of contact as a precursor to a guaranteed meet.

I don't mind receiving a wink,

I guess it's a numbers thing I don't get many,

I never send to a lady or couple to show interest, I always message, I think the few minutes of my time is well worth the effort.

Winks are just lazy. We find people just look at the pics then wink rather than take time to read the profile then see if they match what we are looking for then message.

That's probably true, a wink can be interpreted as a lazy start. It's like that first message that looks like it's been copy and pasted. People say the that first message should show a little bit of originality. But if 90% of first messages get ignored just because they are a single guy. That's a lot of good intention and imagination going to waste.
