Sure.
I propose the topic of future energy R&D.
The Max Plank Society in Germany recently managed to sustain a much longer plasma enduced fusion reaction than anyone has achieved before. I believe this, plus recent developements in the takomak core design and advancements in containment technology have brought us much closer to the ultimate goal of clean, sustainible, renewable energy.

Sure its a good idea but people panic about anything like that .. maybe more reseach should be done into coldfusion. But more chance of finding the holy grail than it ever happening |

people need to realise that fision and fusion are two conpletely different things. fusion is completely safe. It is a reaction within plasma, or two superheated gasses, that release energy. Any faults can be dealt with as they happen (if) and a reaction can be stopped within 10 seconds.
This means that meltdown is impossible and the process is inherently safe.
Also, fusion releases no radioactive material, there is no waste as with fision reactors. Even coal pla ts release Radon. a radioactive gas into the atmosphere. Politicians need to educate themselves and put trust in a tech that could save our planet. |
