From what I gather they are just temporary as they pull fluid into the tissue. They can also cause long term damage if over done.
Jelqing is a technique known to add modest gains in size, but has to be done carefully so as not to cause problems. (just google for it and you'll find quite a bit of info on it)

I would agree with this comment, having sold hundreds of different ones we have had a couple of people come back and say that they have seen a small increase, but i believe that was more in girth rather than length (to stop getting sore you have to use lube and don't go overboard in using the pump, moderation and all that) 
I can guarantee that you will not see an instant permanent gain. |
