Maybe so but not the reason I would cite. It's more to do with the joy of sharing my partner with other men who appreciate her the joy of sharing.

Probably not, the science is different for men and women. Geberally speaking, women are more threatened if their man has an emotional attachement to another woman, physical less so. Hence polygamy is far more widespread than polyandry. |

I read an article, but I'm not sure how the science holds up.
Apparently females used to mate with a lot of males in prehistoric times with the theory being the best quality sperm would impregnate her.
The reason this apparently turns her main partner on is that if he knows that if she is taking lots of other guys sperm, the best chance of him impregnating his own partner is by fucking her often and regularly.
