Body type on fab
Jump to: Newest in thread
On fab profiles you have a number of body type options, and over my time of fab Iv seen girls that are 'average' label themselves as 'curvy' and more than once seen profiles with girls with 'athletic bodies' label themselves average etc.
Is it that you play yourselves down due to media stereotyping?? I for one find its how sexy the woman herself is not necessarily her size the mitigating factor in pursuing a meet!
Fabulous is the most confusing one as sure the beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder!! |

Average being overweight does tend to skew things now of course

Perception and statistics do tend to do this |

"I'm considering changing mine from slim to average as developing a bit of paunch "
I'm the same! My last pic was taken a couple of days ago and I've put a few pounds on!
However - as I intend to start my diet and fitness routine with a vengeance next week I decided there wasn't much point in changing my body type when i'd have to change it back again in a few weeks! Xx |

I've changed mine to average from curvy, but now I'm thinking maybe I should be slim. I think people just see themselves different to others, I look down at myself and think I'm bigger than what I am, then I see a photo and think bloody hell is that what I look like haha

A long time ago, on a regular dating site, I chose the "curvy" option cuz I think curves are nice! But some take that to be a nice way of saying chunky, and I had a few fellas tell me I should change it to "athletic" as I do have muscle... Soo, I would actually like a "I work out and have muscle tone but am also curvaceous and womanly" option. I think that is reasonable. |

People will look at your pics and make their own mind up ..you've given them the information, e.g photos and description ;theyll decide which group you're in. .athletic, curvy, fabulous. ..doesn't matter. .I might opted for slim for mine (that'll throw them! !) |

It would give a better indication but a size 12 at 5ft9 looks very different to a 12 at 5ft1. |

But people put their height in too - so we should all be able to consider people's height and dress size and come up with a reasonably accurate picture of what they look like! Far more than we can at the moment anyway!
It'll never happen though as many people like to use vague body types and 'creative photography' to make themselves look a few dress sizes smaller than they are!
Also - not sure how it would work with men? Would they put top size (s,m,l,xl etc) then waist size? Xx |

I tried suggesting that. Started a thread a couple of weeks ago. Won't make the same mistake again! |

"I think there should be search option added for body type there is for everything else " but what would it achieve people bit what they see themselves as not others.
Athletic is very subjective as is curvy, clothes size might work better but then I've seen people with clothes size on their profile and wondered where they buy their clothes from.
Simply look at the pictures if your attracted to the person you are if your not your not

That's fine for people looking at you or I diamond - as we both have full clear body shots that people can make an informed opinion on! However, there are plenty of people on here with only pics of one part of their body, no pictures at all, or lots of pics in 'jigsaw' format so people are expected to piece them together in their imagination! Therefore many people have to rely on only a vague body type description before they decide whether to message someone or not!
Frankly I'm glad I'm not a guy on fab - I'd have given up many moons ago!! |

And those profiles are easily avoided. I don't get what the problem is. |

I do cos at the moment all we can search is sex, age and ethnicity, I search for a 32 year old white guy I get 5000 32 year old white guys but they could be blonde or ginger or short or fat or small of penis, what if I only want guys over 5'10 in height with dark hair, in good physical shape and with a donkey dick. I don't want to have to search through 100's of unsuitable guys. For something as intimate as sex this site should have the most meticulous search options, even down to dicks having a turtle neck. |

Never said there was a problem - simply saying there's a clear cut case for having height and dress size on profiles - and for searching by that if people choose to!
However - as a woman guys tend to contact me rather than the other way round so it's no skin off my nose! I simply think it would be a good idea - and it's available on most dating sites!
However, I've no intention of getting in a vicious 'debate' about it again! I accept that a lot of people don't seem to want this so it's unlikely to happen. Xx |

Having height and dress size is often suggested...I'm not convinced men have much of a concept of what different dress sizes look like anyway. Or at least the ones with "only size 12 and below" on their profile who then get affronted when I reply to them that they're not going to be interested in a size 18 don't... |

I can actually see your point here Ruby!
As well as body size there's body shape! One size 12 could have an hour glass figure - another could have a waist roughly the same size as their hips! This is a tough one and always will be!
We all know I - and many others - admire your figure as we fab your gorgeous basque pics! (I nominated you in the fab awards - it was seconded and thirded within minutes!) I don't think there'll ever be a perfect solution - it's just a case of finding one that the majority are happy with!
Whether it stays the same or evolves into something different is anyone's guess! In the meantime I'll just have great sex, make friends and chat shit on the forums! |

Yes Peach - I am the same - in my head I am still thechubby, unconfident young girl in the corner that no-one wanted to have fun with - but apparently now I am over 50 and fairly well-toned and very high sex drive I am more attractive than I think! m x |

What is a curvy guy?
Cuddly?? "
Surely there needs to be a better option for blokes. Curvy makes me think of a guy with moobs and a big Beyoncé bum. |

Of course having any number of options to describe oneself (dress size, BMI, dick length etc) still relies on honesty and can lead to a heck of a lot of lets say "flexibility"
Me I'm just like the tardis, on the inside 6'6" and 18 st of muscle... the reality is somewhat different but fortunately I'm quite happy with what I've got |

I'm put average. I'm pretty athletic, regular at the gym etc but I've had 2 kids...so I think I'll always have wobbly bits. I guess people who've met me would consider me slim but that's not how I feel. So average it is. |

I've put average for me as I'm not curvy, although I got a good bum, not slim although I'm thinner than I once was, I'm not large, I go to gym a lot though hardly athletic. So average. Maybe slim, maybe athletic. Hmm. |

"I still say ignore what i say and view the pics."
this.
If anyone really wants to meet me they get to see the friends only pics first. Full length front and back naked ones that show my actual shape and size. If they don't like, we don't meet. Easy. |

That is a really good idea - very simple and straightforward. We are going to adopt this strategy too. Now - where is my camera.....m x |
