What would you do?

On Christmas Eve I (Emm) went to the cemetery to visit my son's grave. There were a lot of fallen leaves and I tripped over a concrete grave edging because it was obscured and pitched face-first into an old marble headstone.

I have several nasty lacerations, grazes and a fractured eye socket - it all looks very unsightly. We were planning to go to Abfabs bi night this Monday coming - I don't expect to play and I'll be avoiding the pool and hot tubs but Zed might get the chance to do all that so here's my question... what would you do? Would you still go along even if you looked like you'd done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson? Should I go along and risk people doing a double take in horror? Or should I stay away so I don't shock people?

I'd still go. No idea what the theme is for that night but maybe get a masquerade mask and wear something glamourous.

It's a bi night so no theme - maybe I'll go and just wear something really tame and unobtrusive so I blend into the background lol

Ouch! Nasty bit of bad luck.

Apart from applying ice packs to your swollen face I would start taking arnica which will reduce pain and swelling. I hope you go out and have fun anyway. Just tell them you cut yourself shaving.

Get some arnica from boots. It will bring the bruising out quicker and will fade quicker.

The Garden of Eden in Beautiful North Wales

I'd go....

To your local council and lodge a complaint and inform them that your taking legal advise...

Then I'd go to the social meet.

South Wales, will travel to Hereford, Worcestershire and Shropshire

If I was your partners I would opt for a cosy night in and look after you... There is plenty of other party nights and I would not want to go if my lady couldn't play or join in the fun because she felt fragile or uncomfortable

I'd wait and see how it looked on Monday and then make a decision. Tbh if you're feeling selfconscious being there then you probably won't enjoy it.

I definately wouldn't go .

As you say it will shock people , and the story behind it will hardly be one to help people who ask have a good night will it ?

Sorry this happened to you , there will be plenty more nights in the new year ahead . Get better soon . And the arnica will certainly help .

No - I'm not in 'need' at all. I rarely play when I go to a club but like the atmosphere. We can rarely make it to a bi night and were looking forward to it (I love seeing Z play with another guy). But I'll take all the comments on board and think it over Thanks everyone.

Emm x

Having discussed the situation, we've decided to give this bi night a miss - there will be other opportunities.

Thanks for all your points of view - they were very helpful

Hope you recover quickly, sounds like an awful thing to happen.

It all depends on how you feel. If you feel up for it then go. If not don't.

Definitely reccommend Arnica for the bruising, and hope the fracture mends quickly.
