Whilst we both love swinging Mrs J usually likes a quick drink before we meet people or attend a party.
Being on non drinker however it can be a bit of a hit or miss.
If she gets the level right she feels totally relaxed and is usually the first one in the room naked. lol
If she gets it wrong however she will feel too sleepy to be bothered.
We just wish modern science would come up with something more precise to calm nerves, heighten libido & remove inhibitions than alcohol. |

Having a drink is normal i'd say, but getting d*unk is another matter for a number of reasons -
I would suggest the old saying
"everything in moderation"
is true |

For somebody who is normally teetotal the difference is unfortunately 1/2 a glass of white wine |

We won't play with anyone who seems like they've had even a little bit too much to drink.
I personally don't like the idea of playing with someone who needs a drink to calm down for a meet.
Will I have a cider at a club? Yes. But not to calm my nerves and it's never close enough to push me over. Only once did I drink too much at a party. I wasn't playing in any case, and Marc watched out for me. But never again.
I am usually far too excited and in the moment to need alcohol to get me in the mood.

I think the problem here might be the quick drink element. A small glass of wine sipped over an hour or two rather than a couple in quick succession will calm without stupefying |

I'm teetotal now. But never drank when meeting. I don't mind the nerves and would rather be fully aware.
But as a single female there is the additional safety aspect of not drinking |

Can be a very fine line !
A little tipple to settle the nerves - fine, but a couple I met recently who thought pints of lager were the perfect overture to some fun ! No thanks - not for me at all ! |

I know a certain Swinger who overdone it one night and fell asleep in the toilet at Libs and could not be found for two hours. Not naming any names for fear of embarrassing the young lady.
Although to protect her modesty the drinking was not about plucking up courage to play but more down to the big group of friends having a social. |

This. "
What is this nonsense!!
Why have is it some people are building this up to something it is quite clearly not.
Obviously there is no point trying to explain to some of the twits who have posted that there is a difference between a drink to calm nerves and being totally tranquilised and unaware of your actions. |

Obviously there is a difference. People are merely making comments. I certainly wasn't suggesting she needs to be d*unk to do anything. However some do.
If you think people are twits for having opinions then it says a lot about your attitude.
Guilty conscience perhaps. |

Hence my feeling that if someone who doesn't normally drink, 'needs' a drink to do something, then there is a problem. Doesn't matter if it's half a glass of wine or a crate.

"personally i think if you need a drink to perform then i would wonder if they wanted to actually do it"
We both love a drink say a glass of wine. We have a more relaxed attitude towards drink/wine. For us a glass of wine is synonymous with relaxing and grown up party time. Maybe it's the Mediterranean influence. If we didn't want to play or didn't fancy the other couple, no amount of alcohol would change that. |

Good point. I don't think we can infer motive though I would hope that her willingness to participate was established before hand and she is genuinely just having a drink to relax. I do agree though that there is a point at which I would be refusing to get involved. |

I wasn't inferring a sinister motive, sorry if it seemed that way. My thoughts were of the couple as two people, not as one of them trying to coerce the other.
Most swingers seem to need a drink to meet people. |

I don't drink alcohol and I'm usually the naked one dancing on tables it's all about being comfortable in yourself and realising that no matter what some people will like you some won't but who gives a toss about the naysayers |

I meant the lady's motive for drinking .
We were chatting about this over our coffee earlier, we often relax with a glass of wine or a beer before or during the lead up to sex even when it's just us two I'm probably looking at it from my experiences knowing it has no effect on what I would choose to do or who with. |

The trouble is that you did specifically infer a sinister motive and when (surprise, surprise!)we found it obnoxious you then backed it up by suggesting we had a "guilty conscience".
That's the trouble with these forums. Some people go way beyond explaining their own motivation to then making arbitrary judgements about other peoples motivation.
Based upon what precisely? A training in psycho analysis from Toytown Community College?

I'm with you on this. Other week myself and bf went to a club for the first time. I drank enough that got my in the mood for some fun. We had our fun but he felt he had a point to prove and drank a full bottle of whisky and passed out. Luckly for us the lady that ran the club was k8nd enough to let him sleep it off.
He's on a drink ban this weekend and got a lot of saying his sorry and thank you xxxx |

I had a drink with a meal on Friday(works do, half a lager) then proceeded to fall asleep at the party we went to afterwards. Very rarely drink and would never need to let one drop pass my lips to play, I prefer to be in the present moment and totally aware .... |

First time at a club I met a couple. Older guy, younger girl. It took me a couple of minutes to realise he was holding her up because she was out of her tree d*unk. Horrendous. I left them and informed the bar staff just in case she needed help. I don't do alcohol in clubs - I like to be in control of all my faculties but that's just me as a single fem speaking. |
