So - honestly - why are there so rarely any slim women appreciation threads??

Hello my lovelies!

Some of you will already know that there was a disagreement (admittedly initiated by me) on the current ' Big, busty, curvy women' thread!

I have no problem with the many BBW appreciation threads that are started at least weekly - they are there for those who like bbw's - and for bbw's - to come together - or that's how I see it!

What I DO have a problem with is that it's completely one sided! There are no corresponding threads for slim ladies and those who like them to be matched!

So - my question is - why is this?

Is it - as a lady on the 'big and busty' thread suggested that perhaps male forumites just happen to prefer the larger lady?

Or is it - as I suspect - that men are very reticent about coming forward and stating that they find slender ladies attractive for fear of retribution? And if that's the case - why is that?

My attention was drawn on the other thread to a guy last week who started a thread asking for women of size 14 or below in the NW to come forward as he was struggling to find any - and that bizarrely what destroyed the thread weren't people who were offended by his preferences - but MANY people coming along to state that OTHERS would be offended! It was very odd!

So - without stating your body preference unless you feel it's relevant to your comment (and then please don't insult another body type!) - please give your honest opinion as to why there are so many BBW appreciation threads but no slender lady appreciation threads - as I really am flummoxed!

My opinion is that people are definitely afraid of offending people or getting abused for their preference.

It wouldn't bother me personally because I'm a big girl and I know that, no point being offended by it.

I think its because men, in particular, feel that 'bbws' need to be told they are desirable. I think there is an assumption that bbws have a low self esteem and need to be convinced they are desirable. I think most women, whether bbw or not, dont need to be flattered, but some men think they do. Women should be and I think are, on the whole, secure enough in their own skin. If you like the look of a person, why wouldn't you just tell them in a pm?

I think the slim lady thread only got to approx 39 posts and the bbw? Guess what? It reached the standard 175

Interesting point! But by the same token - wouldn't publicly stating that they prefer larger ladies potentially ruin their chances with slimmer ladies?

Not sure but either way they usually end up in drama. Larger people being called unhealthy and such and slimmer ladies being called vain, bags of bones, not real etc. I can only recall one thread recently where that didn't happen miraculously.

Personally im not a fan of those threads anyway, I don't care about compliments or whatever from people im never likely to meet.

From what I've seen anybody who is looking to be flattered e.g bbw appreciation threads, slim women appreciation threads, will receive the attention and compliments.

The term used on here "white knights" and all their heroic chivalrous comments didn't come about by accident.

Truth is a lot of smoke gets blown up people's arses, same on any online forum.

I think you've nailed it.

I really think that the majority of women I see in this site are 16+

When you consider that for every woman willing to meet with a guy or a couple, there are about 150 guys competing for that woman's attention, it makes no tactical sense to do anything that could be detrimental to your chances.

What this means is although a guy might totally prefer a size 8, there's no way he's going to say so. He'd be running the risk of reducing the already limited attention that he does get.

What you end up with is a a bunch of guys pretending they're the first to find the larger women attractive. It creates a space for BBWs to take centre stage and for the guys and couples to crack on, while the size 6-14s sit bemused, wondering where their appreciation threads are.

Obvs there's more to it than this but I got bored of tapping away on my phone half way through.

juding by previous threads i think it is because some larger women cant help but post sarcastic comments about how they are not welcome because they are above the OP's preferred size and that really saddens and equally infuriates me because if it was the other way round and a slim woman came ont a bbw thread making sarcastic comments the bbw's would not be happy!!

A report has just been published (which I haven't read) but part of the headline was that obese women now account for above 60% of a certain age group (probably an age group prevalent on here) - even below that, the % was huge (forgive the pun). So, in reality, not many slim ladies around! Slim ladies are, of course, gorgeous - personally don't find BBW attractive in the slightest but then, of course, get accused of being an 'ist' As a nation, we are getting obese - as usual following the American ways - it's v sad.

Any bloke posting on a bbw or slinky thread that he prefers a slinky is often quoted as committing 'forum suicide' which is bull.

But in 10 years or so of swinging forums. One. One thread recently did not go horribly nasty. The odd 'fat and proud' type comment was ignored. I would have to check but in my mind it's the women that don't read the thread, just the title that post defensive

There is no fetish for slim or average women. Not all fat women fall into the bbw category either but get put in there because they're overweight and men think they are doing them a favour. The BBW women in porn and modelling are beautiful and huge,not mediocre and flabby.

I think the simple matter is that all the mainstream media constantly tells the larger woman that she's wrong and unattractive. All of fashion and magazines airbrush women to make them skinnier, to make them appear slighter. If you're thin then the world tells you well done, right or wrong.

The bbw threads etc simply attempt to redress the balance slightly.

Personally I think that all women have the capacity to be sexy, its not about shape or bust size but a quality. Body shape itself does nothing for me directly

I think it's as others have said, it's because slim is seen as the norm, the ideal look as it were. And as most men will tell you this doesn't mean that's all we find attractive. So we'll pop up from time to time and just say hold on here, a bigger woman (for example) can be equally as attractive too.

In the same way as it's often thought that all men like big boobs. The bigger they are the more desirable the woman. So you'll get a thread from time to time that says small boobed women are just as lovely. Men really aren't that fussed after all.

And I don't think it's necessarily a ploy by guys (not all anyway) to increase their chances on here by buttering up a certain demographic. It's just a fact. Men generally like all kinds of women. Body shape/size isn't the be all and end all.

I'll end by saying this is just my view, because I do honestly like all shapes and sizes of women. To be honest I can't even be arsed with terms like bbw. I've got eyes. I use them to see if I find something attractive or not. Simple as that.

I also think most of the ladies cut through the BS and aren't interested in the flattery that is offered as we know it's just shite.

Id like to know what the ratio of big women to small women is on fab. In a ideal world a low self esteem wouldn't have a role to play but i think it does to some degree in this instance. I prefere a more svelt woman in an ashetic sense, thats no dissrespect to larger ladies, thats just my preferance.i've had some very saucy, giggly, sexy wonderful times with larger girls. A good sense of humour and a personality is ALWAYS what turns me on. There was a regular (i know a bit off subject) who wasn't no oil painting in any respect but so lovely, caring and friendly, he turned out that i saw him as very dreamy indeed

Maybe it's just that some men on here just prefer BBW'S and like to post threads about it. I'd consider myself an 'average' (with big boobs) and I have regularly seem men pass me by and make a play for larger lovely friends. Does it bother me? Hell no!! Good on them. I have heard some shallow, self centered, insecure women pass judgement on ladies like that but that says more about the vile individual than anything else. Let people have preferences. As long as they aren't derogatory to others it's all good.

Slightly off topic, but for every (however misguided) "I love BBW" thread there is a "aren't obese women a huge drain on the NHS" or "fat women with ideas above their station demanding fit VWE men" thread or veiled reference to fat equalling lazy, greedy and on benefits.

I usually agree with a lot of what you post, and normally cba commenting on these types of threads because of the messages I'll get afterwards telling me that I'm a 'real woman', but this I do disagree with. Yes I'm fat, but I don't need someone blowing smoke up my ass...I actually find it incredibly patronising and boring.

Also, I think it's a bit insulting to assume that bigger women aren't happy with themselves and all slimmer women are...from my experience pretty much all women have hang ups regardless of their body size.

As for the OP - I do agree with others that some (not all) will post in the forums that they love bigger women just in the hope of a shag out of gratitude. I wouldn't say more do actually find women of my size more attractive, they just assume we're an easier option. If it were true that us fatties were in fact most desirable then the top fabbed pics would look a lot different!

I tried making this point once a while back with a thread about average women, but instead a ton of people just said I wasn't average (when, in fact, I am extremely average, not in size, but in many other ways).

Most people are average, that is the whole idea, isn't it? Yet they get less attention than others in threads, even less than slim women.

As for the abundance of BBW/larger lady threads, I think there are two things, the first is that few guys want to openly say they prefer slim women because it will limit their choices quite substantially. The second is that I really do think that a lot of guys on here are looking for bigger women - that's who turns them on.

I personally don't care. All women get more compliments on this site than they need in a lifetime, anyway.

Absolutely spot on , and I was only commenting on why the BBW appreciation posts appear .

One never sees a forum post started by a disgruntled slim or average woman after being told she is too average or slim in size .

Yet there are often posts started by BBW saying how nasty it is when they get unpleasant messages .

Hopefully this puts my perspective across

I don't think there's any real reason for it. People can start a thread on anything, and if more do on one topic who cares? Just look at Avoid, Kiss etc.

I doubt there is any ulterior motive in it. People just post stuff. And lots appear to not have enough imagination to think of something new.

The men and women I've met have been pretty catholic in their tastes and size has never been a factor. I have asked since I am podgy and am aware that it's not necessarily everyone's cup of tea. I have also never appreciated being fetishised for a singular aspect of my looks. Even if I did feel like proclaiming myself a BBW (and sizewise I think I sit on the fence on that one) I would not want anyone who was attracted to me solely for that reason. I believe it is true that men come on here to say what they think women want to here and thereby increasing their chances of getting a shag.

I however do not believe that fat women outnumber slim women anywhere; be it at the dole office, working in a bank, on pof or on fab. The only places I know of are strip clubs and air hostess jobs.

Then there is the issue of confidence. I am yet to come across a slim woman's profile which reads something like, " I am slim and if you don't like it, jog on!". Such words are almost always on a bbw's profile.

When the chips are down with all other things being equal, I will choose a size 12 to 18 over a 0 to 8. Matter of choice for me but be not deceived, THERE ARE THOSE WHO WILL SAY ANYTHING JUST TO GET A FUCK.

Back to the OP's original question, I do think it's a case of people thinking slim women don't need to be told they are lovely and that men find them attractive, I think they show this by fabbing their pics, hence why the top most fabbed pics are 99% of the time, slim women.

I have a friend who's larger she often refers to me as a skinny cow and once when my belt fell of in the middle of the road said "you shouldn't be so bloody skinny" apart from the fact that I wouldn't call myself skinny why does she think it's ok to say those things to me? I would agree more on the side that slim women get less threads because it's seen as normal to like slim women. It's less so to prefer large women. The reason these threads happen so frequently is that it possibly is expected that a larger lady would be more likely to post in such a discussion. I don't think that there is any motive to hurt or offend anyone whatever their size. People like who they like.

I'm wondering if the big women meet less? Or are somehow more exclusive to men?

That could be a reason why guys are finding it harder to find them and have to make threads about it. Coz i've noticed most guys tend to not really have a preference for any body type, from the ones who message me anyway as well as the ones in the forums. And many of these preference topics tend to be men looking for people who fit that preference so they can PM them.

Some of you will already know that there was a disagreement (admittedly initiated by me) on the current ' Big, busty, curvy women' thread!

I have no problem with the many BBW appreciation threads that are started at least weekly - they are there for those who like bbw's - and for bbw's - to come together - or that's how I see it!

What I DO have a problem with is that it's completely one sided! There are no corresponding threads for slim ladies and those who like them to be matched!

So - my question is - why is this?

Is it - as a lady on the 'big and busty' thread suggested that perhaps male forumites just happen to prefer the larger lady?

Or is it - as I suspect - that men are very reticent about coming forward and stating that they find slender ladies attractive for fear of retribution? And if that's the case - why is that?

Fabulous. Now one woman with an axe to grind about something specific has popped up and made a horrible cunty comment and it's just proved the theory of all who like to think that larger women post horrible comments about slimmer women correct. Well done. FFS.

I think that people who really think about it will know that the one comment is not indicative of the whole. Miss I pointed out someone who did the same regarding larger women.

The conversation, a few posts aside, has actually been rather interesting.

I'm not even *that* fat, is certainly never class myself as BBW, but in the outside world if I'm in a club or something I might as well be invisible. So if I were looking for men in that environment, it wouldn't exactly encourage me to approach anyone. So those who do genuinely find big women attractive probably don't have as many options, away from the net.

I should hope that most guys realise by now that none of us are desperate and needy, the thread is still shifting between large v slim and I'm not sure it's how the OP intends it to go.

Maybe in the real world most guys can't admit to liking larger ladies as it's not the thing to do, so they feel free to do it here, I'm sure they don't mean to offend anyone

They always ask if they can't be the only one who finds the attractive thing attractive, too. 'Is it just me who likes eating nice food? I can't be the only one who likes eating nice food can I?'

I don't go out much but i noticed most women who are out round this area tend to be slim, def slimmer than me and i've never seen anyone BBW out round here. My best mate is BBW but she has serious body issues because of it and has no interest in trusting men to meet them either.

Despite everyone is supposed to be more obese now i've never really seen that many BBW people anywhere, maybe some fat people but not that many. I reckon it could be just lack of BBW anywhere.

I got way more interest as a BBW (Previously a size 26) than I get now as a size 10.

I've had men who have their profile full of "love BBW" "looking for BBW" - and tell me that is just to widen their chances of getting laid, but its not what they prefer.

I've also been told I'm fake and too far up my own arse to meet because obviously being my current body type, makes me high maintenance and vain.

And I also get the messages telling me I'd be much better looking if I ate a few pies balanced with the ones that tell me I'm out of their league...

Looks like you can't win whichever way!

I guess some folk will say what they think they need to in order to get a meet.

I think there are definately men who go for me because they think i will be grateful assuming because i have a belly etc im less desirable. Probably because its the norm in wider society to believe bigger is not attractive.

Saying that there are some men who prefer a squidgier figure like mine. But as someone else has already said id rather not be someones fetish. Im a Big Woman not a big beautiful woman. That would mean everyone found me attractive and thats not the case.

I think some times people are shit with words. Stating preference is all good till you say anyone outaide your preference is ugly or blah blah. Personally id rather have a shag once a year with someone i clicked with on a personality level and the attraction was generated from there than my podge.

I dont mind saying as a bi woman i have a preference for a 12 -20 figure. I could see me fancying a woman of 8-10 easily but wouldnt go there for issues of my own body type no hers. Above a 20 i havent ever been attracted to but who knows that can change.

Also a dress size means little as everyone carries there weight differently.

Yes...well sometimes my sister is fatter than me but we're the same size at the moment. Maybe it's to do with where I live or the places I go out. The biggest of my friends is about a size 14, they're all slim.

I believe all thread / opinions have the ability to go a variety of different ways depending on who was the OP & who makes a good 'opening argument'.

I'd just like to thank you for starting the thread, no idea if Im BBW and don't really care, but it's been one of the most interesting and well debated (apart from the obvious

Thank you! That was the intention - to have a genuine, no insults debate on a topic that I don't think has been discussed before - and most have done that!

Although there's been no unanimous agreement - most people seem to fall into 4 schools of thought:

1 - a lot of people on fab genuinely prefer BBW - and the lack of slim threads is perhaps due to lack of demand.

2 - men are worried that if they post a thread stating a preference for slim ladies - who are in a minority - then they will be insulted or will spoil their chances of meeting larger ladies - who are in the majority.

3 (and I don't think this is true for a second) men think that larger ladies are 'easier' - so they're more likely to get a meet by expressing a preference for them.

4 There is a general opinion that slim ladies don't need to be complemented at all as by virtue of being slim they should be confident and secure- so threads to compliment BBW's are a way of saying 'we see you as attractive too!'

I'm not sure what the answer is - maybe a combination of the above - but it still doesn't help guys who like slim (or average as someone mentioned) find their match in the way that 'I love BBW's ' threads can!

To me the obvious answer is to enable people to search for their desired body type just as we do for age, gender etc - just as you can on most dating apps!

Admin - any chance??

I agree more with this if they want to meet because hardly any of the site uses the forums anyway so even the BBW topics are pretty much useless also and are mostly used by people who wanna appreciate these women rather than be able to meet them.

It was a good thread.

There were only two nasty comments, one from someone I've never seen post before and one from someone I've noticed posts a lot of snide so called jokey posts that say more about themselves than those he is trying to insult.

I would say though that the majority of people who message me never use the forums so any threads on who loves fat women have no effect on who messages me.

I personally prefer slim women. I think, in general, most British (or even western) men prefer slim women. Look at top fabbed, look at FHMs sexiest women, look at models, movie stars and TV stars. Most of the women considered attractive are slim.

There are Some people, who genuinely prefer larger women, im sure of it, but the BBW appreciation threads I think probably attract men who are hedging their bets.

I doubt very many women will now be jumping for joy saying "at last, Chris from CLCC likes slim women" So it probably wont do anything for anyones self esteem!

And we are still getting messages form guys telling us that they love the slimmer woman, obviously trying to get into my wife's pants! Why? Because we also see them posting on the "I love BBW's" threads saying how they prefer BBW's!

I also dislike the term BBW! Not every fat person is attractive and not everyone of any other size is attractive! Those that give themselves that accolade seem to me to be trying to believe what they type! If they had the confidence in themselves, they wouldn't have to try to convince people that they are "beautiful".
