Are there any girls or couples into this genre of music? Be great to meet at a gig with a view to play afterwards.

closed my tab instead of posting again .

was just wondering coz i listen to several genres of hardcore but they're more happy hardcore and rave type stuff, as well as liking punk.

not even sure what punk hardcore is so had a look at a list of bands classed as this, apart from beastie boys and a few other bands i reckon i'm more a pop punk kind of girl (xray spex and that is more my thing).

Black Flag pantera

Pantera aren't my cup of tea at all. More metal than hardcore, or so I would have thought.

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Hi Vara, hardcore is a bit of a loose term, and people like to argue over what is or isn't hardcore.

Some older bands you could listen to are Cro Mags, Minor Threat, Black Flag

Some newer bands, Madball, Terror, Comeback Kid, Bane

However someone could come along with an entirely different opinion.

The whole "David Comes to Life" album is amazing. Have you seen the "Queen of Hearts" video with the school children singing? A great live band too. I saw the Dead Kennedys earlier this year, not a great experience as its not the DK's without Jello (whose spoken word shows are amazing; same with Rollins). The Misfits can still put on a good show

Fuck me.

Was at Glastonbury 20andlkjsdfsd, at the New Bands tent and a staggeringly pissed gentleman told me to go to the Avalon stage the following night if it was the last thing I ever did to watch The Damned.

My last band was hardcore/screamo with a nice measure of synths and drum machines thrown in.

Scream vocals; lots of false cords with fast switches to low growls

Plenty of China cymbals and double bass on the drums

Chugging guitar riffs and mega brutal breakdowns

I miss that band heavier genres are much more fun to play the drums on
