Big busty and curvy isn't necessarily BBW! You seem to have a real resentment of these threads...if you don't like, why not just ignore? |

I think perhaps I'm not keen because only twice in my nearly 2 years on fab have I seen a guy dare to post a thread in appreciation of slim/athletic women! On both occasions they were immediately lambasted and called shallow, fickle and a whole lot worse - instant fabicide!!
However - if a guy posts a preference for larger ladies (when a lovely lady above pointed out that she was 'big' rather than busty and curvy the op replied along the lines of 'big is beautiful ' so yes - this is essentially another BBW thread!) then that's fine and lots of other guys agree with him - and lots of lovely larger ladies come on to be appreciated and - who knows - chat and arrange meets?
However - I'm very happy to note that, unusually, no-one has felt the need to insult slim/athletic ladies in order to make their point!
This make me smile (honest - I'm smiling as I type )
But the fact still remains that it's perfectly ok to post almost daily threads of large/curvy/bbw appreciation but it's NEVER ok to post a thread in appreciation of slim/athletic ladies (please feel free to run a forum search).
It's this inequality that irks me - not the topic itself!
And for what it's worth - I'm with the lovely Miss innocent on this one anyway! I want a man to meet me because I'm ace - not because I'm a particular body shape!
And before I get accused of hypocrisy - if there were 4 threads a week extolling the virtues of slim ladies and one a year on BBW's - anyone who knows me will know that I'd be the first to point out how unequal and how unfair that is!! |

It's the use of the word "real" that I hate.
The real women have curves comments. I find it patronising and rude. I have friends who are slim with small boobs and friends who are fat with big boobs and they are all definitely real |

I think a lot of it stems from the underlying belief that larger women, however you want to label them, need that constant reassurance and have to be told they are beautiful. Whereas slim women have self esteem. I am going to post this without letting on which category I fall into ... but rest assured, the assumption that bigger women need to be patronised and made to feel better by compliments from strangers could not be further from the truth, in my opinion. Many are confident and able to thrive on their own without such charity ... |

I just saw it as a nice thread. I don't think any women really need more reassurance on here. I'm not BBW, but I get plenty of nice comments. I see Peach's point about the number of BBW threads vs. the number of slim threads, but I guess it just doesn't bother me. Slim women get plenty of love from the guys too.
As long as a thread extolling the virtues of larger women don't simultaneously insult slim women, then I don't see the issue, personally.

Neither do I Courtney,I don't have big boobs far from it. It was a nice thread to begin with people really shouldn't turn things around in a negative way,it's not pleasant at all. |

Perhaps there's an inequality of threads in favour of slim women because there's less guys (who post in the forums) who prefer them? There were no skinny bashing or 'real women' comments, and yours was the stand alone snide post and the first to reference BBWs.
Everyone is entitled to their preferences - and you can't force an even ratio of opinions in an open forum - so rather than get a bee in your bonnet next time you see an admittedly repetitive BBW/Curvy/Big Boobs appreciation thread, why not think 'not relevant to me' and just ignore? Or if it bothers you that much start a 'Who likes slim/athletic women?' topic yourself?
And bear in mind that all the lovely ladies with hourglass curves, big boobs and well-proportioned figures who posted comments here might not appreciate being lumped together as BBWs...just as not all slim, athletic, straight-up-and-down women are skinny minnies!

There was a thread last week where a guy posted that he was looking for slim women. No one lambasted him and no one made any "real women" "bag of bones" "skinny minnies" comments. But a load of people assumed that's how it was going to go and posted that you can never post these threads because that's how they always end up. And more people jumped in without even reading the posts and assumed that all of those things would have been said. And then there was a side argument about how size 14 wasn't slim.
So the thread ended up on a sour note, but none of it was because anyone had said that the OP shouldn't have that preference or said anything insulting about slim women. It was because it's been decreed that that's how all posts about slim women go. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. |

I remember that thread. All the talk of popcorn and pulling up chair was out of order. The OP wasn't rude or insulting about bigger women at all. |

Popcorn and chair pulling perhaps has come to the point where, if it really detracts from the thread, something should be done by the mods .... its bad enough posting send dealing with people's reactions if you have been here a while, but that gets really silly at times ... |

Unfortunately true of a lot topics ~ seems the 'it's always been this way so that's how it's going stay' tag is hard to shake off. |

We live in a society where every single day, wether it's the media or other your body type (slim) is glorified and praised. Slim is beautiful (and I won't disagree I appreciate slim women as well as bigger ones ). Slim is what everyone should aspire to be. Your body type is plastered on billboards, in magazines, all over the telly, in movies, on adverts. Out culture glorifies slim women. And yet you feel the need to bash on every bbw thread that gives a bit of attention to fat women. Like you're not told in every aspect of your life every day that slim is beautiful. Give it a bloody rest woman and let us fatties have some attention for a few measly threads! |

Before I get blasted for hypocrisy on the above post - I had the debate I wanted on a thread I posted yesterday! Though not conclusive it was interesting and informative - and thankfully very few insults were passed around!
I still think the obvious answer is to have body types in the search/filter engines for all our benefit (but I've started a thread on that too - busy bee me! ) so as I've had my debate I'll leave you to enjoy your thread!
Have a lovely day peeps!

There is so much negativity in the media about 'fat' people that I say hooray to appreciation threads. As long as no one is getting blasted, fat or slim, well what's the issue??!
Men are always really lovely to me, it's woman that are plain nasty. Paul and I went to a spa today and a woman made a comment to her friend that I'm vile due to my size. Now if she had said I looked vile I would of shook it off and thought what a stupid cow but she said I was vile. So now it seems my size defines who I am not just how I look |

To state her opinion out loud in order for you to hear shows her intent, and with the meaning that belongs to vile, identifies that it was cruel and appeared intentional to belittle another human.
That is the moment to go up to them in
public and feedback what they said as loudly as possible and add that she and her friend obviously don't posses or have been taught good manners in order to belong in a civilised society in your opinion. (Others around will hear her words and if she thinks it is as fitting to say what she did she will stand by them - if not .....the chances are she will apologise and notice others looking at her with their own opinions)
I did this in a supermarket once after a similar comment from another and it worked a treat X
It does not define you as you know - what an uncouth cow - I wish her an itchy bum ... Xx |

Personally I have always been into women with more meat on their bones. Anything from average to BBW is my personally taste. Skinny woman just don't seem to do much for me?
Speaking as a bi sexual male, the comical thing is with men or tgirls, I like then to be skinny!
Again this is my personal choice and that's the beauty of fab, you are allowed choice. For me, nothing sexier than curves or a big bum and/or big boobs.
I honestly believe that more and more men are moving over to the BBW or at least in my NW area of the U.K.

Hi FoxxyRed,
I also don't agree with the comment and I fully understand and agreed with your point that people should like you for you, not just your body.
Though without trying to sound too geeky, studies show that everyone makes a snap decision (2/6 seconds) about you due to the pictures we post and with a standard profile people Suggest that 15% of your profile worth is the text your write and 85% is our pictures. To be clear I got these numbers from a study, Ok Cupid recently did but I feel the numbers must tie in as this is a swinging site designed for more sexually open people.
That said personally, I enjoy reading someone's profile and having healthy conversations with them before I arrange a social.
Anyway, with trying to ramble too much, I guess I'm saying in a perfect world I feel that you are correct but sadly the world is based more around our base desires than mental attraction.

I know and I 100% agree that some people have the wrong impression and ideas about larger people in general. Don't get me started on the negative opinion people have about larger men.
Anyway, having been very nosey and checked out your profile, I am sure you have no end to suitors and I'll openly say very much my type
Anyway, happy swinging Rose xxx |

"Oh - another BBW thread?
You don't see many of those on fab!!
Ah wtf!! Merry Christmas lovelies!!
We have read this thread with great interest. We have also seen so called BBW threads appear and almost criticise slim women. We say if your slim your slim if fat your fat no big deal. However if as has been said a thread is started on slim women it will be torn apart. We have wondered if those who are truly happy being the so called BBW post here or is it the envious type. Is it some sort of political correctness. You can criticise the slim but not the big or fat. The reality is we are what we are and people like different types. Why not leave it at that. Instead we see this we should aspire to be slim stuff. We mean this in candid and honest way but there is a reason slim sells. It is sad but it sells. 90% of men if honest would choose a slim woman over a large one if out. It's just way of the world. Those guys won't post here because they don't care. They are indifferent to it. In summary we think live and let live but remember slim girls can get laid too. |

"I think a lot of it stems from the underlying belief that larger women, however you want to label them, need that constant reassurance and have to be told they are beautiful.
Very true most of my slimmer friends all say they envy me for my confidence, they are all mainly very self conscious with very low esteem, by their own admission they need the compliments to thrive. Some friends that were slim but are now bigger say they have more confidence in themselves and their bodies that they ever did slim so are at their most confident. Of course this is based on my experience I'm sure there are many confident slimmer ladies too I'm just yet to meet one "
I think you definitely have a point Hun!
Out of interest, have these friends of yours had children? I asked this only because I think the after effects of childbirth can be more obvious on slim women that on curvy/larger ladies - and I'm referring to myself here! Pre babies I was pretty confident with my body - post baby I feel I need to list all my bodily faults in my profile (which I try to do amusingly) because - although I look pretty good dressed - when my clothes come off I have masses of thread veins, my tummy is full of loose skin after loosing (some of) the baby weight, and my boobs have lost their firmness (my nick-name for them is squidgy tits!). Only my arse has been left unimpaired - hence my profile name!
I'm not going to 'bang on' about the lack of threads for other body types again - it's been done (by me I know) but once 'slim ladies' have had kids - many of them (me especially) don't match society's ideal model either - so they can be just as much as seething mass of insecurities as any woman!
My confidence lies in my personality - not my body type!
And for what it's worth - quite a few of my male friends genuinely do find beautiful larger ladies very attractive - they certainly don't see them as second best!
Have a lovely day everyone - and merry Christmas! (Eight more sleeps - eeeek!) |

2 of my friends I was referring to have had children, but one can't have them for medical reasons. They still always struggled with their self esteem and it's worsened since the plight of the mummy tummy and stretch marks made an appearance
Irregardless of size there's a lot to be said for having confidence, it's a very attractive quality in a person for many people.
Merry Christmas to you too |

I'm fat and therefore have big boobs.
I don't like being fat so I'm trying to lose weight.
I don't care if my boobs shrink.
I'm a lot more than just a pair of boobs. |

Great to see this has been a positive thread ......
It's down to confidence with regard to how we see ourselves and it's encouraging to see guys who are not swayed by public "norms" and enjoy us soft Marshmallow types as well.
