What Part Of Swinging Makes Relationships Stronger?

Sorry if this has been posted before!

So, my girlfriend and I would like to try out this scene but what we would love to know is..

How does swinging bring couples together?

Is it the trust involved? Purely just knowing that your partner is being pleasured?

My girlfriend, although would like to try it, still finds it a bit taboo so we would like to know more about it!

Thank you

I think you'll get a different answer from everyone.

Swinging doesn't make my relationships stronger. It's just us being ourselves. If having sex with other people is important to you both, then you would undoubtedly be unhappy if you prevented each other from doing things that made them happy.

Yes, it's not about bringing us closer either, it's just sharing an amazing experience that we both love. It doesn't make our relationship any stronger, it would be just as strong with or without swinging.

Thank you for the replies.

I can see what you both mean, as its pretty subjective.

With that said, we have read many profiles and verifications and it seems a lot of people feel closer to their partner

We found ourselves able to talk even more openly and that made us feel closer but recent non swinging events in our life have brought us much closer together so it's possibly certain types of circumstances.

Why do you guys want to swing? Is it because you like having sex with other people? Or because you think that having sex with other people will make your relationship "stronger" (whatever that means)?

It's mainly to fulfil our fantasies and curiosities in a safe, trusting manner Wasp.

I have only slept with 2 girls, my current girlfriend of 4 years being my second.

My girlfriend has slept with more men before we got together and we both understand that I'm curious. (What would it be like to have no strings sex with other people?).

Ms K has the fantasy of sleeping with an older, well looked after man so we thought well, why not check out this scene and see what's going on

Have you talked through lots of possible situations? For instance, what happens if one of you finds that they enjoy having sex with other people without the other person there? What happen if one of you develops feelings for another person? What happens if something bad happens on a meet and that person doesn't want to do it again?

And have you considered all the options? For instance, have you considered a more open style of relationship where you're free to have sex and relationships with other people too? And if that's for you, the reasons why not might indicate problems that you could have down the road by swinging.

I can see where you're coming from Wasp and I appreciate your opinion.

We have always said that we wouldn't meet without the other person so no worries of that.

Hard to say about having feelings for another person. We are greatly in love and have gone through a lot together, not just your typical 'a lot'. So we are a very close couple who talk everything through as communication is vital.

An open relationship is not what we are after, nothing against it but it's just not for us - we want to enjoy ourselves as a couple and if something happens such as feelings towards another swinger or a bad meet, we believe we can talk it through and decide where to go from there

Hiya OP,

I don't think that swinging has made our relationship stronger, per se, but it has made us focus more on areas of our relationship we may have previously overlooked. The main area being communication. It really is so important when you do this sort of stuff, and we definitely cokmunicate in a more effective way now.

However, having said that, your relationship needs to be strong to even consider swinging. Don't rely on swinging to strengthen it for you, because in those cases it probably won't.

Talk with eachother. Be open and honest. Decide your limits and don't let this change you for the worse. Then you may just find that it changes things for the better.

Enjoy!

-Courtney

I wouldn't say that it's brought us closer as we were/are very close, I wouldn't say it's created more trust either as again we fully trust each other.

Maybe the one thing it has done in our relationship is made us more open to each other, if that's makes any sense?

If you're just starting out, then your relationship should already be a strong one, don't go rushing into things, talk talk and talk some more. And make sure it's something that you both want.

Good luck

What evidence do you have for that? It hasn't ruined our relationship. Some get stronger and some don't. Same as relationships without swinging.

Courtney makes a big point about communication. It's something I bang on about all the time in my posts.

Swinging opened me and my wife up to each other completely. Kinda like the last few bricks from a wall and the last of the dust swept away.

We had brought the barriers down already, which made swinging possible. When we started to enjoy just seeing each other enjoy the thrill of swinging sex, groups or singular encounters, there was nothing left hidden.

Seeing my wife let go and really enjoy being fucked when I'm not losing all sense of reality as the one fucking her, is such an eye opener. I notice things I may have missed and am more aware of them next time it's me inside her.

Our love making is better together for a whole host of reasons and out communication about everything is just brilliant.

That's not entirely true for every couple, that's where having an already strong relationship comes in, and the reason for talking and talking some more!

Certainly been no jealousy with us from either party

Thank you guys.

I think there might be a slight misinterpretation and a bad choice of wording on my part.

We are madly in love and completely trust each other. We've been talking about it only between each other for months but now we want to talk to other couples and just see what's going on.

We are not saying we are definitely going to meet, just see where it goes

For us its seeing each other please and pleasure. We used to play separately but haven't in a few years x

Swinging doesn't break up relationships... Other factors do. And lack of communication being the biggest one

Well, sticking to the question as to what has made us 'stronger' than we might have been.

We carried fantasies and interests around with us much of our adult lives but with previous partners we had to repress them. Now we explore them together and have a fantastic, shared experience. We may choose never to do some things but the liberating thing is that it will be choice and not denied us.

As Courtney has said, communication has been something of an unintended consequence. We have learnt that openness is key and subjects that would be repressed in many relationships are openly discussed. Could write an essay on the benefits of that (anyone who reads my posts will find that easy to believe).

Lastly we are both very 'visual' when it comes to sex. Swinging allows us to bring a library of experiences and images back to our personal sex life. Those shared experiences and scenes really enhance our sex life when we are alone. The common denominator across all those experiences being us of course which reinforces the fact they 'we' are the constant.

Those are some of the benefits to our relationship but they won't reflect everyone's experience.

I think most people have fantasies .

Some are happy keeping them as that , watch porn and maybe discuss them with their partner .

For us , we discussed our desires and fantasies and decided to act them out by joining fab .

I don't think it has made us stronger as we were totally solid before this . But it certainly adds spice to our sex life which is a good thing . It certainly never gets dull anyway !

I am answering as an ex swinging couple .....

My first wife and had been Bi Curious for many years and knew that "swinging" could be the answer - it was and for a few years we were on here and elsewhere, I would say its was both mutually to our advantages and singularly, opened our eyes - did it bring us together ? at that time yes, but we divorced eventually as we fell out of love....no matter how much Swinging was a part of our lives, love is the biggest piece of the jigsaw

ps; I'm not longer curious lol

I wouldn't say that swinging has made us closer - but because we were already very close we were able to enjoy swinging as a way of indulging in the fantasies we have shared for many years. Without that initial closeness and the trust it embodies we wouldn't have started swinging in the first place.

Swinging doesn't male you stronger or better....

If you love someone...really love someone...then you want them to have the best - whatever aspect of life you're talking about. If they happen to love sex, why shouldn't they have the best sex as well...

Hence swinging is a sign of a strong, loving and trusting relationship, not something that creates one...

Same goes for us really. Our communication has always been great, probably now more so. We've been swinging for four years now, more in love every day, recently married, so is it a facet that improves us as people? Probably yes it makes us more rounded and complete but if one of us wanted to stop, we would do so without question

It's the level of honest and open communication that is needed..

Someone far wiser than I once told me that swinging is like holding up a magnifying glass to a relationship. If there are cracks, they will appear like huge chasms but if there are solid foundations they too will appear greater...
