Cant belive in the lack of interest in the social on this site had a great responce from other sites come on you Fab Swingers. Is it down to the way the forums are set out. Does anyone have any ideas why the interest is so poor on Fab |

Can only speak for myself, but I joined Fab because it offers the potential for more than a social meet, which most people can achieve anyway. Fab offers that bit extra, and so, whilst I never attend a club or meet expecting to play, it is in the knowledge that is what everyone else is there for as well, so it could happen. Yes, I am "social" as well, but in hope of more. So specifying social only may put others off. |

I presume OP is organising a social that is currently under-subscribed.
From what I see, socials are unpopular if they clash with something else, are held midweek, are organised at short notice, or are too vague about location.
...Or a combination of those factors.

ahhh yes, see the problem - the one in Derby is on 5th Feb and i know of 2 more already happening on that day, one in Cannock (which i am going to  ) and one in Peterborough.
Obviously i am not saying EVERYONE is going to these nd not yours but it is competition.

as others have said, there are other socials going on that night, cannock being one of the most popular on fabs... as well as one in peterborough..
and there are loads of socials going on in wales and in scotland, so i do think it is a little unfair for you to say that....

I am aware of other socials. My point is that even they dont get alot of responce in the forums. We have around 80 people on the list its not about under subscription i was wondering if people know where to find them i feel it used to be eaiser on the old style events listing.
Having been a member of fabs for several years and another site for a few months i was suprised at the difference in interest.
The social is for swingers run by swingers and not for profit.
We also attend other socials like the cov one on the 12th.
There are over 200 on the list for that but not many from Fab. So whilst i am aware of clashing dates and mid week etc, I just wonderd why there seems less intrest on Fab or are people not picking up on the posts wouldnt want anyone missing out. |

Well we think your idea of swinging is misguided to say the least!
As long standing swingers (15yrs and still going) we have attended and even organised socials throughout this time and find them an excellent way of meeting folks in a "no pressure" atmosphere. This means you can meet chat have a drink and get to know folks before you get down to anything else (back at the hotel etc).
As for the OP's post can only say 150+ and all from FAB at our 1st social last year and already 70+ booked for MrC's bday bash in June again all FAB members ..... can't see a lack of interest here!!!  |

As long standing swingers (15yrs and still going) we have attended and even organised socials throughout this time and find them an excellent way of meeting folks in a "no pressure" atmosphere. This means you can meet chat have a drink and get to know folks before you get down to anything else (back at the hotel etc).
As for the OP's post can only say 150+ and all from FAB at our 1st social last year and already 70+ booked for MrC's bday bash in June again all FAB members ..... can't see a lack of interest here!!! "

As I said, the only one I could find was from a social 5 months ago so no point contacting the poster.
But since anopther poster has said it is named only as 5th December and didnt display it was the peterborough social ion the header I have now found the corrct thread and posted on it for info so hope to have it soon. |

I think the meets and parties bit on the forum should be higher on the list. Above stories and fantasies.
It would have helped if the poster named the thread peterborough social instead of just the date. |

It works fine as it is. Some will attend socials and some not. What you will find is if people recognise the organiser they are going to feel more confident about attending. There are many socials listed on here that get well attended so like they say if it aint broken....... |

Hi I have reposted Peterborough Social looks better lol. I know its same day as Kev and Kats but not all of us can get to cannock. And was thinking about maybe holding them in my local would anyone do the same mine being the apt named The cock inn |

I understand your point and take it onboard so heres my thoughts on why folks don't post on forums and mail instead ........
Lots of people on here keep the fact that they are swingers as quiet as possible and so don't want their movements known, so private mail messages stop folks knowing others plans!
There are also the "if so and so are going we aren't going" brigade so not having yr attendance posted in a forum stops that!
And finally the fact if you post in a forum yr intended attendance then IF you fail to show the whole lot can't bitch at you for not turning up!! Even though they didn't come just to meet person X lol
Hope thats enough thoughts on why they don't post on forums and not enough debate (although I think it might spark some) lol

I sorry but I have to dissagree. I find it so difficult with Scottish and Welsh socials in their own areas and some people`s ideas of what constitutes a social, especially the single guy staing in a hotel room overnight wanting someone to have a beer with! |

so can someone tell me how to find where socials are listed cus i never seem able to find them !
i am on other sites and in chat i was told about a social organised by someone on here so i came to look and ask to come to it but it wasnt a thread so i couldnt ask there and although it said to pm the organiser that wsnt possible cus they had blocked anyone but their "friends" here from emailing them ! |

Just click on meets and events and have a look see what you fancy mine is just a general meet up in a pub with a few local fabstars had a few towards the end of last year and they went pretty well. The question is I can get the single guys to come but how do I get the couples. |
