Living in Tenerife, I browse the Spain and Worldwide forums regularly and notice many people post their holiday dates saying (something like) "Get in touch if you are in the area".
My question is... Do you only wait for people to contact you or do you proactively contact other members that will be in the area? |

"I make contact and use filters to deter messages, each profile is different though. If they don't state a preference in the text, try saying hi "
Lets say you posted that you were in Tenerife on holiday and looking to meet people, then saw someone you liked in the same area... Would you contact them rather than wait in the hope they contacted you? |

As I said I use filters so those that can actually contact me are either friends or those I've declined previously.
It's not applicable to me. When I go abroad it's either with friends or with my little ones so I wouldn't need to meet anyone whilst away |

"OP you should contact them. If they were to look at your Profile it says you are in Poole not Tenerife. So if they searched locally when they got there, you wouldn't show up. "
Unfortunately, this site does not offer a facility to give an address outside of the UK so had to use my old Poole address.
My question was a general question of curiosity and not pertaining to myself specifically. However I take your point. |
