Just woundered what peoples thoughts were on mixing the above??
Ok, so we like a drink like most people but just had another meet ruined by a couple going OTT... infact they could hardly string a sentence together and were falling asleep when we arrived.... we made our excuses and were home within an hour of leaving our house!
just annoying when you go to all the effort of getting ready, travelling etc for nights to be cut short and ruined by it! ![](/icons/s/twisted.gif) |

A little drinkie or two is fine, but....
...met a cpl in a party, she was happily bladdered within half an hour of getting there, and was making a determined effort to be comatose as quickly as possible. Although they made all the right noises about playing, we swerved them.
Turned out it was common practice, and eventually they stopped swinging when it became clear she was getting d*unk because she didnt want to be there.
No problems with being a little merry, but we never play with anyone heavily under the influence. |

I can imagine people do it because they're nervous, but too much alcohol renders me sexually useless anyway!
Nothing more annoying than a d*unk when you're sober! |

I tend not to drink anything but soft drinks when on meet.
I don't need to have a few to relax and enjoy sex... and to be quite frank, anyone who 'needs' to neck a few before they can get over their nerves can fuck off somewhere else. |

I drink when I feel like it.
I downed nearly half a bottle of whisky on NYE, as it was a long night, and I was thirsty.
I drink whisky very diluted, a single topped up with lemonade in a half pint glass, or a double in a pint glass, so it is more like pop, and I can drink a lot of it!
I have to drink a lot in order to be anybody's, so a cheap date I am not!
I am proud to have d*unk a number of gents under the table in my youth! ![](/icons/s/twisted.gif) |

As I often meet on my own, I will not drink at all. One reason is that I have to drive, but the more important one is to be in full control of my faculties.
Different if I am meeting with Hubby or as friend. Then I might have half a cider because I like it.
Alcohol seems to be a prop for some people, and I don't agree with it.

this is one of the reasons I stopped going to clubs on a Saturday evening....if you want to go out and get off your head with drink go to the pub..don't congregate around the bar in swingers clubs....makes it uncomfortable for others there |

I hate seeing women at clubs being plied with drink with their partner to help them "relax".Quite frankly I don't think you should be swinging if you need dutch courage to play.
Our local club has a sign up saying a drink is fine, but if you need a drink to be there, the lifestyle may not be for you.Sums up my attitude really. |

Course its not always alcholic thats taken for dutch courage - if you have to take drink or drugs to be in a club, then I agree with the other posters, you shouldnt be there ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Met a couple, she was nervous as hell and they started a 1.5 ltr bottle of vodka before we got there and it was gone within a couple of hours! Suffice to say it spoilt what could have been a nice night.
Occasionally have a glass of wine, but frequently play without and most folks we've met are the same. If you need to get plastered to play then you probably shouldn't be playing. |

"I wouldnt even look at a guy who'd had a little too much and my guy has turned down a woman before who was quite tipsy. Its so unnattractive "
That reminds me of a night when kev and another friend spent most of the night outside talking to a rather d*unk lady who really didn't want to be there.
What kind of guy wants to have sex with a woman too d*unk to know what she is doing? And isn't that what normal nightclubs are for? ![](/icons/s/rolleyes.gif) |

Well apart form the usual problem with too much alcohol for us blokes lol. I am usually driving so no drinking. But even if we ae not driving, we don't get d*unk.
I have had once or twice a lady who had too much to drink at a meet and both times, I stopped play. Why? Because I felt carrying on would be talking advantage of them and that I won't do. both times, the ladies asked for things that I just know they would regret when sober.
So for us we avoid people that are d*unk whne swinging. A drink is one thing but d*unk is another.

totally agree that you shouldn't be playing if you need to drink to relax enough to do it.
another reason I won't drink in clubs is that I usually drive there/home....zero tolerance behind the wheel!!! |

We find it a total turn off drinking on a meet, don't get us wrong we love a good drink in the right atmosphere with friends, but not on a swing date, like to remember and be in control and know what's going on around us! So drink n swinging don't mix in our eyes |

I don't drink to get over the excited apprehensiveness of a swing meet however see no problem in having a drink with someone (as long as neither of us are driving of course).
I really do mean just one or two though while we chat, not even enough to get tipsy never mind d*unk. |

Totally feel the same. Social drink - good. Drink to work up enough nerve to do it - worrying.... |

we enjoy a social drink before a meet and on a meet when we know we are going to have fun we only have a couple, we know are limits to what makes us tipsy or d*unk so i dont see why we shouldnt have a drink if we want to, what i dont agree with is if it takes a person to drink to have sex or even play with someone. |

Interesting. We had a second meet last night, the first one had gone really, really well. I'd had a couple (for me) the first time and really got into it and we all had a great time.
Last night just didn't go very well, and all I can put it down to is the fact I hadn't had much to drink at all.
I'm a very self conscious person normally and this was magnified a million times last night.
I'm not saying I get bladdered on a meet by any means (apart from one recently but that was with a friend and I don't think anyof us were planning on playing until the next night, it just happened)
It's not that I don't want to play, I do, I was looking forward to last night for ages -I wouldn't say that I shouldn't be playing if I need a few to relax tho - that just seems a bit harsh to me. We're all different personalities.

Its all courses for horses, can only say from a personal view point, was so apprehensive before going to a club the first time I was seeing double from too much drink. Thankfully I had a trusted partner who realised and took charge. Never again. What is the point of playing if all your senses are muddled and bluntened. I normally meet 1 2 1 and never drink because I have to look after myself and drive home. When I go to clubs nowadays, if Im not driving I only have one maybe two drinks, just cos I like the taste. Im weird, I also like to drink WATER, lol |

I want to know exactly what's going on around me so so I feel safe and would never have more than one or two drinks when playing. My feeling is that if you've got to drink in order to play perhaps you shouldn't be playing at all. |

So long as you know your limits and how drink affects you, great.
The thing is, what some people call "having a few to relax" is what others call "pissed as a rat", and the person who's had a drink generally doesn't realise what a twat they have become, they often think they are the sparkling life and soul of the party.
It's bad enough when you are trying to talk to someone in a club and there's a mob of pissed up harridans having a little sing-song or screeching at the top of their voice with laughter at how funny they are (yeah, you know what occasions I'm referring to here), but the worst has to be when thoroughly "refreshed" couples start arguing amongst themselves. Toe-curling, and not for the right reason, it just makes you want to take them somewhere quiet and put them out of everyone else's misery.
Nothing against people having a drink, it's fine in moderation, but some people just can't handle their pop, and they know it. How many times have I heard someone saying "Oh she gets that way after she's had a drink" as his Mrs storms off in a huff? Well, here's a clue, don't let her have a drink, FFS. You might see it often, but you've just killed the atmosphere for averyone else.

I agree with that, never ceases to amaze me the amount of people that go to chams and prop the bar up all night getting more and more bladdered, seems pointless travelling all that way might as well have stayed home, though i suppose it could be their local ![](/icons/s/confused.gif) |

I like to be in control - quelle surprise, right - so taking anything that would affect me would be a complete no no!
Playing is exciting, personally I don't understand why someone would want to take the edge off. Also as a single woman playing alone in my own home I wouldn't think that would be a good idea being legless.
I would feel offended if a meet turned up hammered to see me: he wouldn't be allowed in! ![](/icons/s/confused.gif) |

Having to take "performance enabling substances" means I daren`t drink as it will render me unable to perform in the first place! Money for the helpers down the drain! |
