Between 2 to 6 hours on an early shift, 6 to 8 hours on a late shift. Varies between 4 and 8 hours on my days off.

About 6 hrs a night. I'm not working atm so days are pretty relaxed. When I'm at work I need a full 9 to function thru the day.

I'm in line with a lot of the people who posted above. 5/6 hours when I am working and aim for a solid 8 over the weekends.

Most of you probably know that sleep loss is cumulative. So when we only get 6 hours during the week, by the time we get to the weekend it's like we skipped a whole nights sleep. There aren't am enough hours in the day!

I have sleep apnea, so if I'm not wearing my CPAP device, I 'wake up' every 2 minutes when I stop breathing, so if I probably end up with about 3 hours sleep on aggregate

Suffered from insomnia for as long as I can remember.

I tend to go for weeks with just dozing for a few mins.

Then finally, sleep just takes over and I sleep deeply for a week or so, sometimes for 12 hours at a time. Then is back to the no sleep routine.

What joy!

On a weekend with nothing to do and when Marc is feeling like spoiling me, I can sleep for over 12 hours

I sleep 7 and a half hours during the work week. How do people genuinely sleep on 6 hours a day? Surely that will make you not function properly

"I range about 4-6 hours sleep a night, how much do you get? "

Oh, I have phases when I sleep in 2 hr stints and stay awake for 1-2 hrs. Then at 5am I get really sleepy!

I can manage like that for a couple of weeks. M x

7-8 hours usually, if I have a really late night 6 but that's not often. I don't function well without sleep! I wish I needed less because I love nights and hate my alarm going off every day at 7am! Don't know how you people who don't get much cope!

Usually 8 for me, I at least aim for that many.

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

I aim for 8, usually get 7 or 7 1/2, then catch up the extra at the weekend. I get very grumpy if I get less than that for more than one night in a row.

"Roughly about 5 hours a night, every now and again it catches up on me and I have an early night and sleep around 8/9 hours "

This is about right for me too. It is rare that I crash out for 8/9 hrs but once every few months it happens

Been between 5-6 hours broken for the past 10 years....trying now to make a conscious effort to get at least 7 every night (and even put on a Fab curfew after 10pm!)
