Has the question of someone's height affected you when looking for potential meets?
I'm not exactly the tallest guy out there, but do women still stick to the old adage saying of searching for the stereotypical 'Tall, Dark and Handsome' types? Just curious.
There are some women who've even lied about their height (Usually putting their height measurements when they have their heels on).
Why would anyone even do something like that?

its not a deal breaker for me,but ive found on a regular dating site, men lie about their height a lot....which is odd...becasue unless theyre turning up in cuban heels, i probably will notice...i usually guesstimate anyone saying anything under 6' is usually exagerating by at least 2".. |

By that logic I'm 5.9 which is still reasonable... seriously though if anyone wants to get out a tape measure and invite a group of men for a who's closest to there profile contest I'm in! |

Utter bullshit! I dont care what height you are lying down i care about when youre standing up. I want my man taller than me. Makes me cringe when a guy messages me that. If i dont find you attractive upright, what makes you think you'll get me lying down? |

Your profile says 5'4", you serious? I'm not being cheeky, I just didn't think there would be that many men that short....

Very recently I met with someone who usually insists on blokes being over 6'. So don't think about it, be honest and let your personality and other positive factors do the talking.. |

I like my men over 5'10" as i wear heels a lot. There are many many men under 5'10". Height never used to bother me until the shorter guys started asking me if i could wear smaller heels or flats when we went out. It seemed their height was my issue to resolve. |

I dont know what this is supposed to mean frankly. I date short guys and im angry about it? If thats what youre saying then no thats not the case as my veris prove. I'm 5ft 8 but nearer 6ft in heels!
I've had playmates from 5ft 8 - 6ft 6!
I'm a few inches taller in my heels than a few of them - but if it doesn't bother them then it doesn't bother me!
I take the heels off when we play - so it doesn't matter then! |

I'm sure people like to go around wearing heels all the time, even when they're in bed now don't they?
I think it's ok to be honest about your height and be more proactive in having realistic expectations.
I don't find it much of a deal breaker if the woman is a few inches taller than me. I've been with women who were taller than me and they didn't find it to be a problematic issue now. It more boiled down to having a connection and a spark between each other that we moved past being outright shallow.
But then again, everyone has personal preferences. *Shrugs* |

A wise old man once said 'You could be the world's greatest novelist, but if she's only interested in footballers, your attention is wasted on her.'
Attraction is mostly physical, people like what they like and nothing's going to change that, as I'm in the 5-5.5ft range, I've had to learn that the hard way! Haha
Just be genuine, honest and entertaining! If that's not enough then no worries, you're not for them |

I never give it a second thought. Tallest woman I met here was 5'8" barefoot and we really enjoyed each other's company.
OP, some are looking for tall, dark and handsome. Blame Disney! But some love wearing heels but still want to be petite and feminine standing at 5'10. Also, some are interested in a relationship so attraction and type is vital. They may not admit openly (or more importantly, themselves) but part of them wants to find that perfect guy. So as cliché as it sounds: It's not you, it's them!

I am 5'7, my ex was 6 foot. We were together 15 years. Her friends used to take the piss out of her because before me she would always say she would never hook up anyone shorter than her let alone date them. Then she met me.
She now freely admits her attitude was ridiculous. People have a stereo type image of what they are attracted to but then find themselves attracted to people they would never have dreamt of.
Maybe as you grow older and mature you accept that attraction isn't about height or weight or any other preconception you had. You either find someone attractive physically and mentally or you don't.
Him.

It's taller women that suffer too. I had a friend who used to be here and she was taller than you barefoot. She used to hate it as meeting was a nightmare sometimes. She felt very sensitive over her height so meeting 6ft plus was set in stone. Trouble was they had already been picked up by women shorter. Many who are shorter than 5'2" and less.
So for me, I see it as an issue that affects men and women for different reasons but people have their preferences that have to be respected. But a lot of the time, we let public opinion dictate what's acceptable.

Height is s big thing for me, I love really tall men.
I'm also good at height and have met 2 guys who said they were 6' and I called them on it. One was 5'11" (I measured him) and the other was 5'11.5" and was shocked I could tell.
However, I have met guys of other heights because in the end, personality matters most |

I can agree with this
Having short legs definately throws up challenges with 'doggy'
My attempts usually end up looking like a game of twister

This is soooo true
I've also, sadly, found that shorter guys are way more obnoxious. They are the ones who often send hate messages when you say no thanks. Never had that from a tall guy. |
