Stockings allowed or not allowed in the work place

Someone in a forum commented they thought nursed aren't allowed to wear stockings while on duty.....mot sure how true it is.
So it got me wondering. Are there any particular jobs where stockings arent allowed. Eg nurses, cabin crew, supermarket check out!?
I'd love hear all!

There's no uniform in our office but I feel it's my duty to the crew guys to wear stockings or hold ups - always keeps them happy  |

You should read our IT policy! It states that as email is a new technology, it cant yet be relied upon, and so a hardcopy paper letter should also be sent everytime an email is sent! |

Many do but as far as I am aware they still have the choice...certainly in my local healthcare trust. They would wear stockings under trousers I agree. |

When I was seeing one of the girls who worked in the buffet at Piccadilly station in Manchester they all used to wear stockings under their uniform due to the heat whilst working behind the counter especially in the summer when most would also go commando happy days ! |

Jools wears trousers, has option of a dress if she wants but they are bloody hideous. Not wearing stockings is probably due to comfort. Crotchless tights are more likely.
Hold ups once again comfort.
Also this isn't a 1970's carry on film.
These day's mist NHS staff barely have time to pee let alone flirt or act unproffesionaly |

If it's hospital policy I imagine it's in place for disease control reasons, like the no jewellery rules.
They tend to keep everything to a minimum and it will depend from ward to ward, depending on patient vulnerability.
Nowadays most seem to wear the green cover alls so the day of the sexy nurses in short skirts are well gone. But at least we have Ann Summers to keep it fresh in everyones mind. |

Most nurses wear scrubs these days so that old fantasy has gone and, despite the porn films, cabin crew mainly wear tights given the amount of bending they do, the risk of flashing and the problem of exciting the passengers. It also saves wearing panties as it can get pretty hot down there on a busy flight. Mind you the first thing ditched on landing are the tights.  |

When I had a proper job on dress down
Friday we were allowed to remove the tie
Was very Strictly enforced in the summer we all took jackets of or none did all sleeves rolled up or none . Same with ties
No braces lol tie pins or hats . No visible tattoos those that had them never lasted long
If we attended evening function was expected to wear evening suit day time was morning suit
Cricket was immaculate whites And the only time allowed to wear jumpers
we had a typing pool all the typists were expected to wear secretary suits
Tea lady had an apron lol

They were very much allowed in one place I worked at, there was a woman who always came down on to our floor to check a pattern. She knew she was also giving us a very clear view of her stockings and suspenders, occasionally her black lack knickers too. |
