Went on holiday to the Canary Islands.. Went to a few fancy restaurants, I cannot believe the amount of people that are so judgemental on tattoos, I found myself being looked at hell of a lot... Has anyone ever had this?  |

Can't see your tattoos so difficult to comment. Do you have arm ones, hidden ones, face ones? I guess if they are out in the open you want people to see them. Just looking or staring disprovingly? |

I understand that, we often notice that people stare at us when we're out, no idea why but we do wonder. We don't feel they're judging us though. |

More or less judgemental than on here? I'm guessing, as in most threads of this ilk, some people like them, others don't.
Just like beards, piercings, nipple clamps, ankle chains, pink hair etc 
As has been said before (also in most threads of this ilk) focus on those that do like them and don't worry about those that don't.
As an aside, how do you know they were being judgemental about your tattoos? |

I'm sure I read somewhere that the uk has the most heavily tattooed populous and that its relatively rare in other European countries. Maybe they hadn't seen quite so many before.
Maybe the Chinese 'good luck' tattoo actually reads 'fish soup'  |

Just recently returned from Minorca there was a male who was completely covered in tattoos except face and hands ........ He got a lot of looks but he wasn't phased.

We feel the same way, we really like them as long as they are cool and original. Not just the lame tribal art etc... |

I wonder if the current crop of tattoos will be the Chinese characters / Maori tattoo of the future and look a bit shit.
They seem to be a current fashion, but unlike clothes you can't take them off.
I think they look really cool, but I also once though she'll suits look really cool. |
