We've just read a profile that basically says that if you don't drink alcohol they won't meet you. What are people's views on this? Do you drink on a meet or not and what are your reasons?? xx

gosport ish

It's down to them who they want to meet. I don't drink alcohol and even if I did I'd choose not to on a meet.

I would drink alcohol on a social meet, but obviously drink socially. I'm a lightweight anyway so I wouldn't drink too much.

I think it's always best and a meet turns out better when you have your wits about you.

I just think of that as an extra filter!

I like a glass of wine but I don't drink more than that on a meet. I like having my wits about me. It's fine being out with friends and adding alcohol but not when meeting a stranger.

People have smoking fetish; this must be an alcohol fetish; same difference

Oh, and yes I do drink at a club or if I meet someone in bar. But I don't drink silly amounts just like when meeting other friends

However, if I meet someone and my instinct tells me that could be unstable, I then don't drink alcohol at all and try to leave as politely as I can

I tend to have one or two with my meet in the pub before we go off and do whatever. I'm not a big drinker, so a cheeky one helps me to loosen up but I do decide within the time it takes to order the drink whether or not I want to sleep with them!

I had a meet arranged a few years ago, when the day before it was cancelled. The excuse given was that I am only a 'social' drinker, whereas they were regular and heavy.

I know some prefer to have a glass of wine or a beer prior to a meet to help settle the nerves, which is fine.

But in my opinion if you need to be d*unk to play then you shouldn't be playing in the first place!

Personally I will drink on a social meet but if it's a play meet I prefer not to drink so I have my wits about me x

If someone I'm meeting has a glass or two I'm fine with it. If, however it starts to get excessive then it's a huge turn-off for me.

I got rather d*unk on my own in a club once, the result of that wasn't that I was a nuisance, apparently I was very popular

I couldn't remember what I'd done or who with and worst of all I panicked that I might have allowed unsafe sex.

As I sat worrying at the clinic I text a female friend to express this fear.

I was lucky; she had followed and watched me all night, she's one of my ladies who watch, and she assured me I'd played safe.

Excessive booze doesn't suit this game imo.

I think going for a drink is a good ice breaker on a first meet

I would share a bottle of wine on a meet (rarely has much been d*unk - far too busy!), or go for a drink beforehand - but I don't see alcohol as a requirement; especially as I do not drink at all if I'm driving - how odd!

We play sober at clubs regularly, especially as a lot of our visits are before night shift or a good drive from home.

When attending a club on an overnight, we usually have a few cocktails at lunch but back off them by evening.

We leave the d*unken sex to just us alone

Not sure I would like to meet a profile that said drinking was a necessity though, I'd be concerned as to what level they thought appropriate

Each to their own really.

We generally have a beer or two, depends on the situation I guess. If we have folks over for dinner then we get the wine out if people want it.

It is hard to see that there ought to be a hard and fast yes or no rule because each situation is different and our guests have differing values depending on who they are so we cater for that.

Expect everything on fab for peoples' interests and then just find matching needs.

I'm guessing those who want a drink just find that it's really worked for them and so that's their current desire: nothing wrong at all with it and I'm sure that there are others out there who are very happy with this.

There are so many people on fab that it's just a case of putting in the effort to find those that have complementary interests.

I've had a couple of glasses of wine and shared a small bottle of jd with someone before sex. It's a nice way of getting relaxed together and they had both driven a long way to see me. I have had 2 experiences where the man slowly drank himself into a deep sleep, which wasn't particularly exciting for me watching a man snore.

We drink socially on a meet but not to extremes. However, we reckon it's up to the individual what they do. We certainly wouldn't hang around waiting for someone to get sloshed on a meeting that's for sure.

Generally speaking, I don't but if I'm at someone's house as their sex guest, I'll have a glass of wine. I don't want to have sex with d*unk people.

If I'm off on a social then I'll invariably be driving. So I'll have a shandy and then onto soft drinks.

D*unken fumbles were good at uni, not such a good idea since!
