I would really like to understand what it is that guys like about the shaved look. I could get all 'feminist' about this and say that it's a porn star fetish look and stuff about pre-pubescent children rather than 'real women' but I'm trying to be open minded.... |

Maybe it's like why blonde is "preferred" by many, a sign of youth and all that. Hell as we get older hair starts growing in places we don't want and leaves places we do!
Personally I like a woman smooth around the playground but a bit of a lawn north of there is fine. After all a mouth full of hair can be a bit unpleasant. I myself keep trim, only fair. |

Due to a hormone imbalance (at least thats what i think) I have never had much hair down there so what little i do have i shave off. Some guys like it, some prefer a little and some prefer the 70's style bush. As with everything though its preferences. |

I hear where you're coming from on this one, and I do worry about the general trend to infantalize in the media but I also respect other people's choice.
I've played with shaven women and therefore don't have a problem with it, but ultimately I think I prefer hair. It signifies adulthood to me. Or maybe it's just the French in me.

Signifies adulthood, I'm sure it does but what about the rest of the person? Surely you get to see the whole body and not just the fanny? I much prefer clean and smooth, don't mind trimmed but can't deal with a massive bush! Z |

I don't think shaved adult genitalia look any more 'pre-pubescent' than a bald guy looks like a newborn baby. Adult bits look like adult bits and I think it's a bit offensive to suggest anyone preferring the smooth look is somehow enticed by something less than a fully developed adult.

Enjoy both but have a soft spot for the neat trimmed look, mind I was self educated in sex on 80's porn. Though I prefer shaven lips to heighten arousal orally and it can be arousing having your partner oblige. Pubic hair also holds the musk of a woman's natural essence. |

Natural or trimmed on Ladies is prefered

i am another old fashioned guy loving the 70's bushy style...
I do trim myself because it's what ladies seem to like most (despite my naked chicken feeling) and I do not mind a shaven lady, but there's something primordial clicking in me when I see some hair down there!
Definitely an eccentric choice for a few braves these days

i've always preferred to be smooth..it feels so much cleaner to me and it's certainly not related to sex or fantasies.
i don't look at it and think it reminds me of a child's either...it's wrong to make that inference. |

For me it's the same as anything else, why do women pluck their eyebrows and then paint them on. Why wear stockings, why put on makeups to reduce wrinkles and look younger. Why go to the gym to work out and stay trim.
Feminism and patriocal society have nothing to do with it. In the end it all comes down to our animal instinct and the need to attract a mate. In humans we still have those urges to mate even if it's just for fun and not for child birth. So as with all animals we prepare ourselves and make ourselves more appealling. Animals use eveloution and genetics, humans are able to speed up the process a little more with artifical enhancements.
It's not just the ladies though, women like certain features in men and so men will try to set themselves up in the same way. Alot of women put on their profiles that they want heavy cummers and long stayers and repeaters. These are generally although not specifically features of young men. So do women prefer teenagers or just features in men that are sexually more appealling.
Everything else is just people trying to push an agenda whether that is feminism or exploitation of women, masulinity or emasculation of men.

Hey I shaved it all off my balls a couple of tmes, it felt great and sexy, but a few days later ichy as hell. I would never insist on my wife shaving but if she was to do it, I would definatley give her full appreciation for the effort as I can appreciate the downside.
Anyone with any tips to reduce the itching gladly appreciated. Answers on a postcard or email. 
I think trimmed will have to do for now, rather than totally bare. |

We both trim incredibly short, but not enough for it to be itching.
The bush for us turns us off quicker than a blown bulb.

I tried shaving once just to see what it was like and it did feel wierd. Even more so when it started to grow back. And I got a few red spots and I rarely get spots so that freaked me.
As I am not very hairy anyhows now I just trim the "essentials".
I certainly would not shave because potential meets "required" it. Plenty more fish in the sea. |

I have full pubic hair, and since i expressed my preference for much younger men (my latest is 21) I was surprised to note how many of them actively preferred it.
And btw, shaving/not shaving is nothing to do with innate masculinity/femininity, it's merely a social construction, in no small part crossing over from porn culture. I'm old enough to remember when not having pubes was thought of as being pervy as it was associated with children. Not that long ago :oldlady: |

As a straight woman you just wouldn't understand. Try giving oral for 30 minutes or more at a time, it is not nice having mouthfuls of hair. In fact once dampened by saliva and a woman's natural secretions pubic hair make's the face quite sore. It acts like sandpaper around the mouth, chin and upper lip and depending on the length of oral, this redness can last for day's. |

Trimmed very short for me, I also shave my balls sometimes. It just feels cleaner and more hygienic to me.
I have tried fully shaved but I always think it looks a bit odd on me, also you get the itchy rash for about a week afterwards as it grows back. 
As for women, well different styles suit different women. I do tend to prefer shorter trims or landing strips and the like, but I really don't mind at the end of the day. |

I personally trim-makes it look bigger...
On women I have it any way it comes,though I find it much more pleasurable for both of us if she is at least trimmed while I'm down there.
