Why do people message with a nice comment about a profile or pic and then say .'but im sure you wouldnt like me'..even had one block me so i couldnt reply?
Surely i should decide who i would or wouldnt be interested in????
....any ideas? |

oh im terrible and deciding for people if they will like me or not, if someone mails me and sends me pic and they really good looking i dont reply because i know it will be a waste of time, if i feel someone is to good for me i dont mail them or is they mail me first i dont reply, saying that i have never mailed anyone telling them they wont like me, i just think it in my head and dont reply lol |

I get messages like that and have never understood it. I'm of the opinion that people who send that type of message probably send them to everyone. It's obviously a fear of rejection but I don't believe it's a fear of rejection from me specifically, they don't know me. I think it's a general thing for them.
It's the same reason some people can never approach others in a bar. |

I think its the fear of rejection .. Some may have had some negative things on meets before left them feeling unhappy.Some have set out what thay are looking for here and thats it no matter how you look or how nice you are. |

Definately a lack of confidence thing. I used to be the same. But now I am more comfortable with the site I've stopped worrying about it. You do get the odd harsh rejection but thats just their ego's talking. I've actually met up with people whom, when I first joined the site I would not have dreamed of "being good enough for".  |

Worst case if there is such a thing as too good for you, is you have a nice evening out and the opportunity of new friends... Its rude not to reply as we all do this together, so a polite no thank you is not a rejection... |

100% agree with this!!!
If someone isn't happy with themself and puts themself down, they wont be for me. If they don't think they're good enough, then I don't want them either.
I like confidence: it's a turn on for me - people that don't like themself - major turn off!!! |

I've now got bags of confidence, but as I am not exactly pron star material, I like to be honest. I wouldn't like to turn up for a meet expecting an Angelina Jolie lookalike and getting Anne Widdicom! So I am quite upfront and paint an honest picture and send one too.

I have had that too,I am new here and had a few messages where they have said,I/We think your very sexy but I don't think you would be interested in me. I did message back and said I would be the judge of that.

You never know where you might find a gem in a mountain of rocks ...
I'd rather have a ugly guy with a big penis and confidence issues than some good looking guy who doesn't turn up as promised .....
But I also like the odd female ... and most of them on this site are at least slightly odd ...

imagine if you replied to one of them messages saying thanks but youre spot on i dont fancy you at all but have you got any fit mates that you think id like?  ive not recieved such a message! mine usually arrive about 4 am when theyve run out of profiles to contact off the meet today list. i just think "how rude" assuming that im an easy lay!...before reaching for my a to z |
