My OH had loads of fun at a single males expense the other day (on our couples profile)

The guy assumed he was chatting to me, so my OH flirted back.

It rattled on to the point of arranging a meet. It wasn't until my OH dropped into the conversation about wanting the guy to lick his balls or something that the single guy twigged!

Bless him the guy took it well and said 'fair one mate, that will teach me'

If there's an X on the end I assume it's the girl but still address them as "you guys". If there's no X I assume it's the fella and still address them as "you guys".

Moral of the story - assume they're both there, everyone wins.

I'll always try to address both even if it's two separate comments and if conversation sparks I'll ask if I'm talking to him, her or both

They are both going to read what you say (unless it's just a bloke pretending to be a couple) ultimately, but it is easier for us if the lady signs with a 'x', when a conversation is flowing lol

There is also a thing that a good percentage of couples either only have pictures of the fem or are showing massively more pictures of her so it's no surprise that a guy might think it's mainly the woman

I always assume that both will be reading my messages .. and if i get into dialogue i generally ask who im messaging to, had a few instances where the Guy has pretended to be his Female partner.. (for reasons he only knows) .. but generally most couples have been really genuine & honest (which i appreciate)

So will you forgive my not starting with "Why do some single guys...." if I forgive you posting on another thread "pubically" when you meant "publicly"?

You misspelled, I missed out one word. Wasn't generalising: some guys do, others don't.

The main point is that those guys who do leave you, as an equal part of a proposed threesome, and, in doing so, are lessening their chances of it happening.

As for pictures, I can't post public pictures of myself for very good, professional reasons. Simples

Not all single guys do. We both always sign off which one of us is responding so there's no mistake. I find it more disconcerting where I've had messages saying don't tell him and what's app me etc! That's a minority though.

Whilst this is an issue, there are also a number of couple profiles who, without prompting, will say they like your profile, you are fit, great cock, would love to meet, etc for the conversation to then end in, 'I'll show the other half your photo when she gets home'.

Why don't couples have a profile pic of both of them on their profile? If I see a pic of a tit or a woman in lingerie my brain says woman, and I'm not even trying to get in her knickers. It should be a requirement that the profile pic should have both people in,cock and fanny would do,and half the pics should be of the man. It's very nice when the person talking let's you know who you are addressing,it gets tedious constantly asking who I'm talking to now

I dont mind talking to the male half, but what does my fucking nut in is fantasizing chatty hubbies..

so in the instance of messaging , I'd like to know early on that the female half actually is aware I'm interested and not the just hubby having a wank fantasizing about what I'm gonna do to his wife. There are many verified couples that do this too.

I've even turned up at a meet and essentially I could tell the wife had never laid eyes on me..and didnt fancy me...(luckily it was just a social)

I dunno really what else i need to chat to the male half about in most cases, though I'd be as polite and engaging as possible.

Then again, I dont have many long engaging chats with fems either as i have no real interest in cyber-talking in messages on or off fab.

I said I wanted to speak to both of them on the phone first.....

You talked about requirements of profiles and profile pics and you have neither!

One of the main points being missed in this thread is that SOME single guys assume when I respond (not in the initial approach, please note) that it is Anne is replying. That's all!

And, as I pointed out above, it was more a tongue in cheek post inspired after I'd been chatting this morning to a bloke who said on about the third or fourth message "Nice tits hun".

He already knew it was a couple he was messaging!

And when did I ask in this post for a critique of our profile? I didn't. Just wanted to find out from other couples if they had the same experience. Single women won't have had the same experience

Because we get so many, it would take hours to reply. And some get pissed off if you politely turn them down. Ultimately there's no nice way of saying "Thanks but not for us"

Well what do you want them to say? "Nice tits hun....oh and nice cock too mate". If you use the name and the photos to centre around the woman of the couple, I don't think you can be too surprised that people naturally assume it's the woman controlling the profile.

"

You mean I'm not talking Anne now? I really did think I was. See how easy it is to be confused. When I'm looking for new partners my pics are up and there is no confusion as to who they men are talking to. What I'm trying to point out is it can be confusing when talking to couples. I'm not saying there aren't men who don't do what you say,but instead of taking the piss, tell them. I wasn't critiquing your profile,I was talking in general about couples' profiles as most don't have many or any of the man. If you advertise yourself as predominantly female you'll get the response you have been.

Well the single women seem more easily confused than men on this thread!

How on earth can anyone who's read this thread imagine it is Anne posting?

Not very bright, in my opinion.

Anyway, I give up. Clearly all my fault and, not for the first time, I leave a forum thread feeling rather knocked about.

Interesting that couples who have posted understand what's what but singletons don't.

As someone who originally had a single man's profile before meeting Anne, I understand talking to couples is not easy as you can't be sure who is online. Indeed the same thing is true of a couple talking to another couple.

And never did I assume it was one or the other.

Anyway, I'll wave my white flag and walk away now. Sadly this was only supposed to be a light hearted thread after a single guy made a mistake yesterday. Never mind. Next time I'll stay off the forums

"I dont mind talking to the male half, but what does my fucking nut in is fantasizing chatty hubbies..

so in the instance of messaging , I'd like to know early on that the female half actually is aware I'm interested and not the just hubby having a wank fantasizing about what I'm gonna do to his wife. There are many verified couples that do this too.

I've even turned up at a meet and essentially I could tell the wife had never laid eyes on me..and didnt fancy me...(luckily it was just a social."

I get this a lot when approached by some couples. If I haven't spoken to both people at least once, then I move on.

I really don't think you have much room to complain about being 'knocked about' when in the same post you make the comment that people are not very bright. It's just plain rude.

Sometimes. Other times you can end up feeling rounded on, pulled apart, holes picked in you and end up feeling rather battered.

Ultimately the only serious message I tried to get across was that if you're a single guy, please don't assume that you are talking to the woman when addressing a couple because that isn't necessarily so.

That's all. And other couples have found the same. Our profile is the way it is because we are predominantly looking for single guys to play with. I have all the woman I need in Anne so don't take much interest in other couples or single women (who invariably aren't interested in straight couples anyway) but I end up doing most of the vetting as Anne has a very busy life. I was just interested in hearing if other couples found the same (and some do) and helping guys understand a bit of protocol for addressing a couple, something that might be of use. That's all

"My OH had loads of fun at a single males expense the other day (on our couples profile)

The guy assumed he was chatting to me, so my OH flirted back.

It rattled on to the point of arranging a meet. It wasn't until my OH dropped into the conversation about wanting the guy to lick his balls or something that the single guy twigged!

Bless him the guy took it well and said 'fair one mate, that will teach me' "

I'll lick them for him

Op, don't take it personally. Threads often veer out of control and there's always an army of folks who will happily miss your point or deliberately find offence. It's all instantly forgotten.

To your point, you're right, some men will message a couple and address only the female. We take the _iew that if a guy doesn't have the wit to know how to address a couple, then they're not likely to be someone we'd want to meet.

"Could it be cos it is just pics of the woman lol."

Fair point well made Shag!

I've lost count of the number of profile pics I've seen where there are only pictures of the woman. Or there are so many pics of the woman with various different men that I find myself playing "guess which one is the husband". Hardly surprisingly in this case when a male or female just assumes that they are talking to the woman! If you have a couples profile then why not put pictures of both of you on there? I'm sure this would help to avoid any confusion!

Actually if I'm exchanging messages with a couple I always assume I'm talking to the male half. I'm pretty sure half the women from couples profiles have no idea they're on a swinging site.

Possibly because of the user name maybe? Sexy slut would normally infer a female...also many couples profiles I have seen only have pics of the female...

"If there's an X on the end I assume it's the girl but still address them as "you guys". If there's no X I assume it's the fella and still address them as "you guys".

Moral of the story - assume they're both there, everyone wins. "

Totally, the male of the couple could be contacting and is bisexual and finds the single guy attractive. As a single guy I'd take that as a compliment!

Probably coz theres usually alot more pics of the female than the male. So automatically assume it's run by the female. What about us single ladies.. we like to see what the male has to offer. Then probably theyd get messaged more.

Here's a clue for the folks who get confused: Look for the word 'couple' on the profile, rather than go by the pics or the username. Works every time.

Not sure how you represented your couples profile, but On my couples profile we never had this issue, but we had a good mix of pics of us both together and separately, in the text we both contributed to writing it so he wrote about me and I wrote about him so people could have an idea on how we represent/converse ourselves differently and we would sign off our mails and forum posts with who was messaging/posting all these things in my experience make a huge difference to how people address you

I don't know why you're having a problem.

Most couples profiles (with a tiny handful of notable exceptions) seem to be pics of the female partner, uploaded by the male partner, with the male partner only ever on here. So much so, with some couples profiles you are left wondering if the female is even aware of the profile.

As such, I'd always assume it was the male person talking, unless proven otherwise.

My initial message is always addressed to both unless the profile specifies that it's ALWAYS the same half of the couple online and I carry on that way until it becomes clear who I'm talking to.

It should be a requirement that the profile pic should have both people in,cock and fanny would do,and half the pics should be of the man. There's only one person on a singles profile, there should be no misunderstanding as to whom you are talking to. I could have pics of my tits and fanny but I'm sure most people know what a woman looks like.
