Damn.
I was sure this was gonna be a thread about IHC buffers and reagents.
As for the blocking thing? Yep. Been doing that forever.
It's a gift we give - the gift of time saving and not stressing over creating an interesting and informative message tailored just for us.
And it stops people perving my moobs.

Yes, like what you said there, it is less stressful and better for them.
Don't know about forever though, I think it's something we've recently invented xx |

I usually block pests and people who wink me or keep messaging me that I am not interested in. I have on occasion blocked a few people while browsing the looked at me page that I would never meet, just to avoid them looking at my profile again. Don't think I have actively searched for and blocked people |

Sounds about right, but have you gone back it? Xx |

If someone messages me and they are not my type, I will say so.
I then tend to block them because, 99 times out of 100, if you don't they come back.
In the hope you will have either forgotten them or changed your mind I guess? |

Personally, I'd rather people block me if they are not interested, 1. Because I have a crap memory and would forget I was ignored before and 2. It saves me wasting my time typing messages to people that are not interested |

I move my location according to where I'll be to play. So sometimes I show up as in the midlands for chams or London for abfabs.
I don't ever put my home location as I don't want local people.

"Its just plain ignorant to block somebody just because they wink you or send a friend request."
Why is it though?
I think it's pretty terrible for people to sent friend requests without a message or a hello or something. I mean you don't do that in real life do you? Get a conversation going.
Getting a wink, a friend request and countless messages, that you don't reply to, or fabbing every photo you have (and I mean one person doing all these) is annoying. Blocking is there for a reason. You have every right to block who you want. |

I think there are more mature ways of dealing with the world. |

Usually reply politely to a decent and thought out message but block the "Hows you's" and the like. We tend to block people we wouldn't want to meet regardless of where we've encountered them (looked at us, fabbed, messaged us etc and anyone openly saying they're married and cheating). We get tired of the same old faces popping up, sending us exactly the same messages and the like. It's not impolite IMO it just saves both parties time in the future. |

This is the mature way. Try being a couple, we let guys message us for 1 hour and got 30 messages xx |

"when we search for meets or they perhaps message/wink if we've decided they're not for us we block then."
We always pre-block, if they don't meet our Criteria, especially on the who's looked at us bit |

Correct, we like to look at the profiles of the people who have looked at us, but we found in the beginning that everyday it was usually the same people looking who we never would meet, so to stop us and them wasting there time we now pre-block everybody who we have no intention of meeting |

Stops them creeping on your profile. We block anyone who we decide is undesirable to us. |

No, I mean unblocked someone and met and it worked out "
So in a nut shell this post is about judging a book by its cover. |

If the post is about meeting after unblocking - shouldn't it be called 'unblocking' or 'de-blocking' rather than preblocking?

Because Preblock is a word we invented like Swinging or Fab.
Feel free to start a new post called Unblocking |
