Seen the news this evening about a super-strain of gonorrhea emerging out of the West Yorkshire/Leeds area that's resistant to anti-biotics?
Yuk!! |

We don't but plenty do and I think it's because it feels so different and as you say the buzz. Being open as you are is the way forward. I wish everyone who enjoyed unprotected penetration was as open as you. |

"Bare back, and you're playing with fire. Is it really worth the risk?"
To some yes
To be honest I never get the hype people get over bareback
You do the best you can to protect yourself if others do things differently ....well they are adults that's their choice
Really does not bother me what other do so long as my meets respect what I do |

It always seems to come out on these posts that people seem to think that if they use condoms that they are safe from catching things x
We don't bareback as a general rule but if we wanted to we would. To be honest I prefer not to have full sex most of the time because I dislike condoms... But I choose to go without often rather than take a risk to far for me x |

Most people who do bare means they already know their status and most likely they are infected so it doesn't bother them . The law requires people to declare otherwise you will be in trouble , the fact that they tell you that they do bare with strangers is in itself enough to admit being a carrier of some deadly sexually transmitted disease .
I don't know any sane healthy person who knows that they are not infected , like myself , knowingly going bareback .
It's , to me , a fools paradise |

If your idea of a buzz, is sitting in a GUM clinic wondering if you've caught an STD or God forbid something worse? You really need to sit in a corner and give yourself a little head wobble!
I have visions now of you both sitting there fidgeting excitedly hoping |

As ever the thread heads off topic from the original question. If you want a safe sex debate, go and start one.
We don't partake in bare play but don't have any problem with anyone that does if they choose to.

Also I rather think some of the very vocal anti bareback people here have probably done it in the heat of playing. |

Op I can't really answer the question about what makes swingers decide to go bareback as I have never done this and it's not something I'd consider.
However I applaud those who are upfront about their preferences.

Each to their own. Honesty doesn't really come into it for me. I've lost count of the amount of profiles on here professing to be 'safe' players with a profile full of bareback pics with different people. I protect myself. Get checked regularly. What other people do is their own choice and their own problem if they catch a nasty. We are all adults are we not? |

Its my job & i know even certed bareback is risky but i have never caught anything in 20 years, i still cross my fingers at every test because no matter how health concience you are everyone is infallible. |

"We are adults, we make choices. Some may not like it but although I play safe, who are we to judge.
We can only protect ourselves and honesty is the best policy I find.
"
However, when you start a thread like this you'll inevitably get differing opinions. Stating an opinion is not necessarily judgemental, although I do find it funny that we, as swingers, having sex with multiple sexual partners (strangers) can somehow find moral high ground in this "toxic" heap to look down on fellow deviants who take more risk than us.
It's akin to Lewis Hamilton berating Ryan Villapoto for racing too fast on a bike, but it's ok for him because he has the protection of his car! |

I hope you're not blocking people just for agreeing. I think people have the complete right to do bareback. I don't do it myself. But each to their own. Do you also block people who do oral. Because that's risky too. We do that. That's our risk. |

In the 35 years we have been swinging we know of nobody who would stoop to such measures.
When someone makes such an accusation it makes us think they doing exactly what they are accusing others of.
Just as very often the people who accuse their partner of cheating are very often the people who are cheating.

Some seem to feel that a condom protects you from everything. Personally I think they're worse than those who bareback openly.
Whatever you choose to do, get yourself checked regularly.

These threads always interest me greatly. Generally read and jog on but felt the need to add my bit.
Bareback away if that's what you enjoy!!
Two incurable sti's can easily be caught while using condoms, warts and herpes. Once you have these you will never be free of them and can pass them to everyone you have close sexual contact with.
Most sti's are curable with antibiotics provided you bother to get checked regularly. So not 'deadly' as previously mentioned.
ORAL!! Who honestly uses dental guards on a woman? Do you know how difficult and expensive these are to buy? Lots of pics of cum smothered faces etc on here so obviously not playing safe.
All you can do is try to protect yourself. Regardless of wether someone says they only play safe, are you really gonna believe some random person you meet on line? Do what you feel is right for you. Get checked regularly and let other people do what makes them happy. We are all adults (debatable sometimes) and have the freedom of choice! |

Yes, you are correct...however, the extreme acids in your saliva are a natural repellent of the HIV virus, hence your chances of contracting the virus via oaral sex are about 10,000 - one. However bareback sex is a very different matter...in my view totally irresponsible |

Last time I got HIV it was a bloody nightmare. I had to go and see a witch Doctor in Namibia who cured me and told me I was now immune. So lucky for me I don't need to wear a condom any more. I've explained this to all my meets and they are happy with the situation |

Love how these posts seem to focus so much on HIV. Even so called 'mild' STIs can have severe complications. I've seen people blinded by ocular herpes and chlamydial conjunctivitis, with liver failure due to hepatitis and a multitude of cancers due to HPV.
No disrespect to anyone who plays this way but for me the risks are just not worth it for a bit of fun. |

"Why are people assuming still that its only those that do bareback sex will catch things.."
I'm always shocked how incredibly stupid some people can be. Using condoms and thinking they are safe. It's those types that don't get tested because they think condoms are 100% safe that will still be spreading diseases. |

"Why are people assuming still that its only those that do bareback sex will catch things.."
Especially with the eye diseases mentioned .
Other than tight fitting goggles I am not aware of condoms , dams , or anything else which may protect them .
And how far does one go ?
No cum anywhere other than in the condom ?
Gloves for any contact ?
No kissing ?
We choose this lifestyle for sexually liberated fun and although we only bareback with each other , everything else we are happy to do with playmates . This includes unprotected oral , and although we know that's not safe either , we are happy to take the risk after considering the alternative which is to either use a condom and a femidom plus a dental dam , or not to do it at all .
We get checked at the gum clinic every 6 weeks , and have had the hep jabs . We also exercise our own hygiene regime and thus far have either been very lucky or whatever we are doing has worked out for us . |

We play "safer" ( notice the wording ) using condoms , but it always worries me this term people use "safe sex" , there is no such thing as safe sex! Everyone is still at risk of contracting and passing on a std and as such should be checked regularly. It always makes me wonder how many people think condoms make them immune.
If people openly admit to bareback good for them that's how they want to play then who are we to judge, at least they are honest about it, would these people who judge ( and use the old Russian roulette speech) prefered they lie about it? make it go underground so no one knows who's using condoms Who isn't and who gets tested regularly ? |

If bareback sex with more than one partner ended in death those of us who became sexually active in the seventies would be long gone.

"We play "safer" ( notice the wording ) using condoms , but it always worries me this term people use "safe sex" , there is no such thing as safe sex!
All the people bitching about bb saying it will end in death yada yada... I do wonder if they ever get tested themselves. It's a dreadful attitude. "
Totally with you on this! |

Interesting answers. Can anyone tell us how many swingers they know got any std from visiting clubs and who was bare and covered
Be interesting to see a chart of weather clubs or private meets are more risky |

"Hi all just curious what makes people decide to swing bareback? For us it's the feeling and buzz we got from it
Good luck with this post..i hope your both thick skinned
Seen the news this evening about a super-strain of gonorrhea emerging out of the West Yorkshire/Leeds area that's resistant to anti-biotics?
Yuk!!"

"Hi all just curious what makes people decide to swing bareback? For us it's the feeling and buzz we got from it"
Bareback is a great feeling. And something I like to enjoy with my partner only.
After all, it's nice to have something just for yourselves in the world of swinging where your intimate life is open.
Personally it is each to their own and I guess if bareback people want to bareback with each other that is their prerogative.
To the lady that suggested that condoms aren't 100% safe. Maybe not, but it does reduce risk somewhat and does promote safe sex and best practice.
Again personally, I do not agree with bareback in swinging. That is my subjective view and my reason is that we try and install safe sex and condoms to the youth of today and think that we should lead by example.
I think it is ethical and promotes good morals.
Though I also agree it isn't 100% safe and that the pope probably wouldn't agree with me.
Coincidentally, an advert has just come on that I've never seen before. It was the Durex Real Feel!!! Haha |

Really... another couple advertising the fact they love bareback and really not phased by the consequences of doing so. You are crazy in my opinion.
Grabbing my popcorn and sitting back now! |

"Most people who do bare means they already know their status and most likely they are infected so it doesn't bother them .
It's , to me , a fools paradise
Got any stats to back up that rather wild claim?
I was wondering the same. X "

"Be aware of this that hit the news today
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-life/11874559/Super-gonorrhoea-outbreak-Everything-you-need-to-know.html we know, there's been a few threads already covering the subject
And as most people seem to do oral without , it makes a void argument as everyone is at risk " |

Unbelievable. I don't bareback EVER but I'm not stupid enough to make claims like this. Where do you get these 'facts' from? |

"These threads always interest me greatly.
We are all adults (debatable sometimes) and have the freedom of choice!"
Agree with this entirely!!
I much prefer bareback - don't we all? - but have decided that, for me, it's not worth the risk unless with a regular, trusted partner!
I DO have unprotected oral play though - so I'm still taking risks but yes - I get checked out regularly! Xx |

STIs are feared far more for the nature of their transmission than for their effect on the human body.
In reality treated chlamidia and gonorrhoea are far less damaging than, for example, influenza, yet most people will propose the use of condoms with almost religious zeal to stop STIs whilst they take little no action to avoid flu. |

Condoms or not everyone on here should still get checked out a couple of times a year. It's free and you can stock up with a free goody bag of lube and condoms from the clinic. Also if you tell them you are a swinger you can get the free Hep B jab too. All adds to keeping you healthy. |

Personally, it is not something that I would do. The only person I ever barebacked with was my husband. You are exposing yourselves to all manner of things. You might get a buzz and a good feeling right now but when you are contacting all of those whom you have slept with to tell that that you have an STI and they need to be checked out, both yourselves and those other people might be a bit more careful.
This is just my opinion |

"We love these posts and it increases our Blocked List lol xxthink you'll probably find they won't lose sleep over that
Oh people do, we've had all sorts of people trying to talk us into it and then getting nasty when we say no. It's why we use the PreBlock system xx"
Choosing to preblock people who do not meet your preferences is perfectly fine,
But choosing to announce when you do is pointless, unnecessary and quite unfair |

"This kind of post is a passion killer for me because it makes me think of the six degrees of separation math equation .
"
After a man who said he insisted on safe sex clearly had no intention of using one when we met him and was visibly surprised when we produced our own we believe the degrees of separation to be far fewer than six. |

We bareback with a couple of very good friends. Something we're all happy with, and it adds a lot to a swinging session. We're from the generation that started sex when the pill had just become available, most girls took them and expected to be barebacked on dates. It's a generational thing as our kids always used condoms when young. |

I'm put off even more now he's shrunk another inch think I need to see more safe sex pictures on my activity feed to reassure me people do play safe out of the six or seven sex pictures I've seen on there today not one was rubbered up . |

I became sexually active in the seventies when condoms were called rubber johnnies and nobody who was on the pill would have dreamed of using them. It's only a generational thing in as far as it's what happened then, in terms of safer sex practices it surely transcends generations. |

I genuinely believe that you either accept the risk and play as safe as you're comfortable with or don't play at all. Our experiences have led us to believe that many more people will have unprotected penetration given the opportunity than will ever admit to it. |

You are right you know you have it as do the 12,000 persons, on average, who die of it each year. Yet people still don't wear latex gloves to push a shopping trolly despite the fact that the last person to use it could have flu and could have sneezed on the handle. Anyhow, If you get tested regularly you will know what STIs you have.
Amazing isnt it? We readily admit to having an incurable disease that kills 12,000 a year but not to a curable mild infection that does not kill anyone. Its a wonderful world. |
