It is a shame that some expect this, however some of us were raised right to be a gentlemen no matter the situation, however if the gesture is not appreciated or is Expected it can be a right downer. However the whole calling the shots part is a major turn off on a profile.

With few people commenting on those that put ' no black or asian' or ' no bbw', it is there prerogative and must cut down on messages slightly. As if I see 'no colour' slim or anything that may apply to me on a profile I do avoid messaging them.

I don't think he's talking about personal preference. The question is "what don't you like to see?" As he's Asian, if he comes across a profile he likes but they state "no blacks or Asians" he not happy seeing that - not that he's not respecting someones preference.

lol. The funny thing is that the race issue is not my biggest grievance. My biggest grievance is that we claim to be open-minded, easy-going and relaxed people but clearly (and I'm 100% certain after reading through here) we're far from that. In some cases, the complete opposite.

Of course they can. But many profiles say "no single guys" yet have single guys as recent verifications. I know it's to stop the onslaught of messages but it's annoying when you want to get to know someone better by just introducing yourself.
