I could pretend to be reading something very sophisticated and intellectual to make myself sound more bohemian and intelligent than I actually am, but the truth is the last book I read was 'An Idiot Abroad' (book of the series) which is very easy to read by fun and amusing!
Perfect holiday reading rather than anything too heavy or intellectually challenging when trying to chill out |

"Just finished The Homesman, not my usual read but was ok.
Now reading National Geographic magazine before starting my next book."
Has it got an article in it about the remains of the very early humans they found in South Africa? |

Not this month. Do you mean the remains that were recently found? |

I'm halfway through a book called " Green Beach " at the moment! It's a WW2 true story based on a guy who is an RDF expert and has to sabotage German radar installations in northern France. It's really good. He has a Canadian Special Forces Unit as an escort and, get this, if there's any chance of him being captured, it's their job to kill him, so he can't give up any secrets.
It's written by the same bloke who wrote " The Boarding Party " ( filmed as " The Sea Wolves" ) and " The One that Got Away" ( also filmed ).
I'm going through a phase of reading these sorts of books at the moment as I'm busy preparing for a film role myself for next year.
I've always preferred true stories to fiction I think, though I often read novels which made great films regardless of fiction or fact ( Jaws, The Wild Geese, Who Goes There, etc )
Sorry, I do go on don't I? |
