Is there such a thing as a stereotype male fantasy? Do women have a different set of fantasies? Is it to do with who is in dominant and gets more sexual partners? This comes from a different thread that brought up the debate about whether a specific act is something men or women fantasize about? The whole bi thing was not debated, so throw that into the mix too. Where do you think your fantasies stem from? I can't say anything succinctly, sorry

My earliest fantasies involved men and women together. I was about 12.

I doubt that's a stereotypical fantasy for a guy. Perhaps it is for a bisexual though?

Based on an outline knowledge of evolutionary psychology I would expect men and women (broadly) to have divergence in their most appealing fantasies.

However, within a group (i.e women) there will be significant individual differences. This means that some women will enjoy fantasies that are typically male dominated. Just like some women like football.

It's factually incorrect to assume those women are being brainwashed into liking said fantasies. That's not to say some men don't try to push their wives one way or another. But the difference is usually pretty easy to spot.

Posted because I am intrigued to know what others think are traditional or stereotypical fantasies. Of course, there must be only a certain number of things to fantasise about ... when I am playing on my own, often its about other women ... without men watching or me even telling them about it afterwards. No man ever mentioned it to me and I had no idea that men liked this. I also have fantasies about men together and about watersports .... but as I have fulfilled those, waiting for the next one to kick in ... I might steal someone's from here, if there is a good one. :...

I don't know if there's a stereotypical male fantasy but I think that some women believe there is and try to appeal to it....same goes for men too.

I'll happily play in either mode as you watch. I'm a bit of an exhibitionistic cow

So, what do people think the stereotypical male and female fantasies are?

Domination/submission & 3sums with opposite sexes would guess are shared by men and women.....

I think that some men think women fantasize about well endowed men who repeat and are heavy cummers, able to lick for hours.

I have no idea what other women fantasize about though.

Stereotypical male fantasy might be an ever ready nymphomaniac requiring little or no foreplay who loves giving oral.

I might add that I don't subscribe to stereotypes myself

I don't believe that there are certain acts that are "male fantasies" and others that are "female fantasies" and that women shouldn't engage in the "male fantasy scenarios" and presumably men shouldn't engage in "female fantasy scenarios"

I don't like to see anyone denying other peoples fantasies and saying they are wrong to have them. I don't expect everyone to share the same fantasies, but being Sex Positive is all about respecting people's right to have fantasies and pursue what makes them sexually fulfilled. If you don't respect other peoples right to have fantasies and try to fulfil them, then don't expect anyone to support you when someone tries to take your rights away to live your life as you see fit.

I find it especially negative and misogynistic when it is a man, trying to deny or belittle a woman's fantasy.

I think a look at the most popular porn categories is a good indicator of male fantasies. Porn for women is a sub catgeory that looks very different. Of course some women will enjoy mainstream porn.

I don't actually have any fantasies. If i do fantasize about something then it'll be something i did already and really enjoyed. Not sure if anyone else is like me?

that's interesting. How did you know what you wanted to try out when you started having sex?

I didn't.

I knew i wanted to have sex though, idk if this is weird but i really, really just wanted to see what it'd feel like to have a cock inside me. And that feeling had never gone away since...

I've ended up enjoying other guys fantasies though. My first boyfriend had a foot fetish, i do like them being worshipped now. My other ex was just 'normal' and we had normal sex, i didn't mind that. The boyfriend after that had was a CD, i'm into some things to do with this. And my last one had another fetish i enjoy now. I still don't fantasize about doing any of these things though, just what i've actually done i fantasize about. I have an idea this is a bit unusual.

I don't know if it is or not but if it's normal for you, it's normal. You know what you like and you do it.

I don't actually have fantasies, if I want to do it I just do it. But my first lady wants where about being with two bi guys don't know where the idea came from I was quite young didn't read porn and at the time didn't know any bi guys, in fact I can't remember hearing anything about bisexuality, yet I was experimenting with girls and fantasing about guys. I remember the first time I ever heard of someone being bisexual was David Bowie

I have developed fantasies with my partner as now I share some of his and he shares some of mine, but because ours is a partnership, I don't see this as being dominated by the fantasies of a male (especially as his involve him and men or TVs), they are not traditional male fantasies. I agree, though, we try them and then they remain something we refer to or return to, during the build up ... what is a stereotypical female fantasy? Or is that what fairy-tales are?

I have no idea. Is it being whisked away by a muscly heart throb, is it being held on manly arms, is it being tied down and whipped, I honestly don't know what the stereotype is. Maybe that's the problem, women's fantasies have largely been ignored or taken second place to mens.

But if you can't even think of a "female fantasy" wouldn't that seem to suggest that there arent gender based fantasies?

It suggests that yes or as I said that they aren't discussed or covered in the media as widely as mens or possibly both.

I think women's fantasies are supposed to be linked to mills and boon type bodice rippers, but if we dont have those, are we just rebelling in a predictable way?

Maybe its just me, but i dislike the idea that all the women on here are just like performing seals trying to please a man. Do the women of this site really have no free will?

I have no idea yet again . That's why I find these discussions interesting.

I was brought up in a traditional household and the expectation was that I would conform and parental and societal expectation can weigh heavy and be difficult to throw off. I don't know how much of what I do and think now is influenced by those expectations because much of it is unconscious influence. What I do know is that I've thought about it a lot and find that in my experience very few people are willing to allow women to just be how they want to be, if I express a desire sexual or otherwise that doesn't fit into what is thought of as "womanly" I am told I'm not natural by certain sections of society if I express a desire that fits into traditional mores another section will tell me I'm brainwashed. I'm moderately intelligent, I try and think openly and originally and I know what I like and want......why can't that be the accepted position for all women?

Suppose it depends how much spare time you have as well? I think men might be slightly more likely to get spare time than women, and so have more time to fantasize?
