yes it's a genuine condition it's just not everybody who claims to have it has
it seems now days anybody who washes their hands several times a day, cleans up a lot or checks their door a few times before walking down the path claims they are OCD when in actual fact that a not what the condition is, for those who had it it rules their life, some people never leave the house or use the toilet because of it
there was a case of a young girl who died because she refused to use the toilet she held herself for that long it killed her |

"theres a lot of new conitions/illness about, maybe its a bi product of our advances in society or something more devious from another world" there is a lot of new conditions, but also many didn't understand mental illness, some are far more common now, some people are mental health wanna bes. But we live in a different society now, there is much more to set certain illnesses off.
Think we've come along way in the last 50 years |

We still have a long way to go. There are so many uninformed people around. I was subjected to a rant recently about how mental health issues and neurodiversity was hammed up because society currently seems it 'cool'. |

" I think we have an awful long way to come, but I do feel we have come on in leaps and bounds over the last 40 years(in my experience) some people do think mental health is cool especially I've found with bipolar, which seems to be trendy.
Only speaking from the professionals I know that have told me but there is a huge increase in people reading up on the internet and going to the doctor saying they have bipolar and then when they are referred to a specialist and told they don't have it get quite nasty.
Also depression is banded a out lightly someone will say they are depressed because they've had a bad day at the office.
But there is also a genuine rise in these conditions and other mental health conditions |

If people are googling things that can only be a good thing in the long run. They may be getting the wrong end of the stick, but at least they're showing an attempt to understand. The person who was ranting at me was my brother and he was referring to my aspergers, which is currently under dealt with by the NHS mental health services. I'd really love it if he would Google it. |

Yes, I've met a couple of people like that. Didn't know until after they were out of my life.
I like that our society is more accommodating. I would not have received an education and be branded unteachable if I was born in the 40s/50s because I had to be retaught the alphabet and how to read when I went to school near enough. |

As I said we have really come along way but still have a long way to go, some people will become more educated and some are just not interested.
It's a hidden illness, noone can see how broken your mind is, no one can tell when you walk down the street.
I think some people genuinely struggle believing something exists that you can't see

No chance. He can't even be in the room if I'm talking about it to others. His discomfort is excruciating. Unfortunately I'm sure my experience isn't unique. |

People being ignorant doesn't bother me, we are all ignorant about a lot of things but I feel saddened when people have a closed mine and are not prepared to listen
