I find just tapping the top end of the hook repeatedly will provide a decent amount of distraction. |

I've used one a few times on subs.
What amazed me is how HOT they are when they come out. (I noticed this during washing them, obviously, not using it to toast marshmallows.)
Never used one with ginger, but rectal temperature means cold metal doesn't stay cold for long at all.

I attached mine to a head harness gag, and did a basketing hogtie, (knotty boys) which meant that my sub had to keep his head back, unless he wanted to be penetrated even deeper by his hook if he lowered it.
Simple predicament. But he said it was nice and intense.
