Photography for the ladies

Jump to: Newest in thread

As well as being a DJ, last year I started up my own business, making promotional films for businesses.

I have also worked on wedding shoots over the years too and have found that I prefer to use DSLR camera's as they give a much more cinematic look and to this end, I have just bought a new camera.

Obviously, these cameras are actually designed for taking still pictures and this has renewed my interest in photography.

This has given me a thought.

If there are any ladies, within a reasonable distance from me, who would like some nice photographs taking for their profiles, please do get in touch.

I am not looking to charge any fees, nor do I expect any 'payment in kind' - that said, I won't completely rule out any possibility of playing if there is chemistry and we're both up for it

I should also mention that any pictures taken will be your property and I will not retain any copies for my own use / pleasure.

As a singleton myself, I fully understand how difficult it can be to produce photographs that one may be entirely satisfied with. Having someone else taking the photographs solves this problem.

I can tell you that what you are saying is wishful thinking.

Or in other words, this attitude indicate person whom I would never trust to shoot me any pictures.

Fair enough, I suppose.

I guess I could have worded it better.

This response has really got to me.

My offer of this service was made with entirely honourable intentions, but I now feel that it has been ruined.

In wanting to familiarise myself and experiment with my new camera and expand on my photigraphy skills, I thought that I could provide a helpful service to those who might find it difficult to take their own pictures, bu?t alas, it seems that one can't offer to help other people these days.

As a result, I will now look for alternative things to shoot.

Offer withdrawn. Thanks a bunch!

Try hiring models. It's a much better way to practice and experiment.

People offering to take photos often get this response. However a man asking for one (broadminded) woman to go on a stag do with twenty men will get mixed reactions.

Maybe offer photography services as an optional extra when you meet, some do enjoy that sort of thing and if you use their memory card it should be fine.

(Also dslr's don't give a "cinematic look" to pictures. Don't bullshit people with fancy words. Styling, composition, color grading, and crop are key to giving a photo a cinematic look. And I can do that with my iPhone.)

Also, it seems that it's only worth advertising yourself as a photographer if you've got really good "professional looking" pic on your profile.

Why do you not have better photos on your profile if you are wanting people to contact you to have their photos taken? This seems to be a recurring theme with most would be photographers on here

+1

I've been into photography for years, a good camera and a good lens does not make a good photographer....

For display on a website, most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between an iphone image and a dslr image.

As you dont want to charge, or payment in kind, but just want it so you can get to know your camera better, why dont you offer this service to guys in your area?

There's no denying that a DSLR coupled with a decent lens will provide stunning results when used correctly, and with the correct composition.

However, these days phones are also very capable... Point to the OP is that just because you've got a fancy new camera, doesn't mean you're any good at taking photos. And whilst your offer was maybe made with all good intentions, offering to take pics of women on a swingers site will always be viewed with some contempt. If you genuinely want to get recognised, put a very good portfolio together and sort your own photos out. (Ps I know mine are shocking, although I don't *ever* take my SLR out with me when I'm in Kat mode) x

...or simply join a local camera club (unfortunately they don't recommend one handed camera work)

Agreed. Our photographs are taken with everything from a top of the range DSLR, through compacts to mobile phones - and some are selfies. They may not be great photography but they're not too bad, and I challenge anyone to spot the difference.

So u never tried photogrpahy before and having camera makes u think you can shoot pictures ladies would be " entirely satisfied with" ?

Well, it DOES NOT work like this.

Of course you can shoot people try your skills but be honest about it.

I would rather advertise myslef "hi, I have new camera, lot of enthusiasm, if u want me to shoot a pictures I am ready"

Better if you have some pictures to show, anyway

If you don't want to be involved with what the OP is asking for then please just avoid the thread instead of trying to humiliate people.

To the OP...if you want to start another thread , maybe in the meet section I will make sure people don't spoil it for you.
