Hi....I'm a bit confused...having seen the pic of a lady in hot pics squirting milk from her boobs .does this mean she is nursing? or can some women just do it..I thought you had to have certain hormones after childbirth to lactate? |

I can lactate as well, it happens through stimulation. Sometimes it just happens from nothing much, like being over active and my boobs bouncing around a lot.
The hormones from pregnancy will also ensure lactation happens, only colostrum will happen with hormones. |

Yeah. Most people it won't happen straight away, and not the amount as seen in hot pics, but you can start a milk flow by stimulating the nipples and areola.
To get a proper flow would take a few days/weeks of regular stimulation. Depends how relaxed you are and diet can help. |

i went to read up on the subject i had heard of wet nursing...so i wondered what, if anything can stimulate lactation again in a woman if she so desired to do so...short but sweet..simple exert from wiki...
However, milk production can be "artificially" and intentionally induced in the absence of any pregnancy in the woman. This is called induced lactation, while a woman who has lactated before and restarts is said to relactate. This can be done by regularly sucking on the nipples (several times a day), massaging and squeezing the female breasts, or with additional help from temporary use of milk-inducing drugs, such as the Dopamine antagonist Domperidone.
In principle—with considerable patience and perseverance—it is possible to induce lactation by sucking on the nipples alone.
It is not necessary that the woman has ever been pregnant, and she can be well in her post-menopausal period. Once established, lactation adjusts to demand. As long as there is regular breast stimulation, lactation is possible.

They only hurt during the coming in stage, i don't even need painkillers and it lasts a day that's all. Once it's established you feel fine, sometimes a bit engorged but you can sort that out.
Not everyone is into it, so yeah it won't appeal to everyone. |

Thanks. Yeah i just felt it was natural for me to feed my kids that way and really enjoyed it, i'm also not slagging off anyone who didn't want to or couldn't but i was lucky it worked for me. Think i miss that bond and closeness you can get with it, i really am affectionate. |

Funny thing is once your kids are older and their head is at the height of your boobs when you want to cuddle them they go off affection (until they're taller than your boobs), lol. Well i found that anyway.

I fed all of my babies but on a couple of occasions ended up with what I can only describe as flip top nipples. Bloody painful so I won't be looking to lactate ever again!!!

Several things- Domperidone is no longer readily prescribed by doctors to aid lactation because it has been linked to heart problems.
And pregnancy hormones are what affects boob elasticity not breastfeeding.
Also engorgement is generally a short term thing- boobs work on supply and demand and a mature supply rarely involves being engorged.
Some people only have to hear a baby cry to have 'let down' sometimes years after ceasing to feed their own children. And some never feel 'let down' at all.
Finally there are documented cases of post menopausal women being able to induce lactation in order to feed babies (think grandmother to an orphaned-baby, kind of thing) x |

I don't get the fascination / attraction of lactating ~ to me it's a bodily function to feed babies, nothing sexy about that.
