What makes a good profile?

We've spent some time on ours, it has evolved over time, and will continue to do so, but as it stands right now we're pretty happy with it.
Just wondered how other people have put their profiles together and what they believe makes a good one?

ask a million different people and you'll get a million different answers....
so will just look at pictures... heaven forbid some will actually read the words!!!!!!
I started off aiming for the standard "two lines and a cock shot"... and ended up with war and peace...
there was a certain amount of alcohol involved....
i've changed little bits... but i think it displays my personality... i don't care if people think its too long....
if almost like a test... if your attention span is that short, you were probably not for me anyway!!!  |

Mine kept growing until it looked as if it was written by Little Miss Ranty Pants, now it is written by Little Miss Warm and Fuzzy, who cares if it is a lie as people don't read the wordy bits  |

I keep editing mine and updating it.
I'd like to know a way of preventing someone from stealing the text as happened yesterday. I reported it and now the thief has been struck off the site but it could so easily happen again....

I had someone ask permission to use 'some of mine' (old one) Needless to say she used about 95% of it, I asked her politely to delete it and she did. Whether she used it again a few days later is beyond me, so I guess there is no way of tracking |

"We don't look for inbound messages these days, so we keep the profile text short and instead send a longer, informative message when we're 'hunting'"
We've tried to avoid that as it became quite laborious and monotonous writing the same kind of message which 90% of the time was a waste of time  |

Oh this thief was a real piece of work.
Not only did he steal my entire profile text he publicly admitted doing so on the forum thread entitled "let me entice you to my world" in the Introdctions board where you can still see this amazing case of Fabricide unwind before your eyes after I announced discovering his crime about halfway through... |

What makes a great profile?
Some nice pics and a reasonably concise profile text which conveys a bit about who you are and what you want and gives the impression you are not a nutter. |

A good profile op, I've just tried to be honest with mine, give as much of an idea about what I'm looking for as I can, trying not to waste people's time, including my own. There are some great profiles on here |

The forumites actually helped me with mine.
Mine was a bit ranty at first but after some criticism,both positive & negative, I changed it to what it is now. |

I think mine's a bit raw, but it's honest and hopefully not too deep but I do ok with it. It'll evolve in time based on positive and negative experiences, and as people we do the same. |
