Yesterday Lou and I were in a club doing what we do best only for the music to be turned up.
What was the enjoyable sound of sex was soon drowned out by the Theme tune to Minder, Gang Bang and Music Man by Black Lace and also for good measure a song by madness.
We went from feeling like doing what Marvin Gaye intended to feeling like an extra in Rita, Sue and Bob too.
What are your thoughts on what music should be played in clubs?

It depends on the club and whether it's dance based or not
I like dance music in dance areas
I really don't ever want to listen to cheesey rubbish like black lace at a swinging club
Im at a swinging club not butlins |

I have to say that there was one club we we have been too that played a whole medley of cheese like black lace and star trekking
I had thought the club was fantastic up until that point and that alone put me off going there again for over a year,it was toe curlingly embarrassing |

That's what I was thinking.
Ashamedly rather than concentrating on my good lady I was staring at the speakers wondering how best to grab them off the wall and throw them down the fire escape.
Without being asked to leave. |

Agreed.
A club should NEVER have a soundtrack suitable for a wedding!
Sometimes I wonder if it's the DJ trying to "please" all the age groups (like you would at a wedding!). I really don't want to hear the Macarena.
Dear clubs: STOP IT.
The clubs that are going down the route of music themes seem to be getting it right.
Rock Night - check
House Night - check
RnB night - check
You don't have to please everyone all of the time to do well! |
