Are you happy discuss them with your current partner?

Or is it in the past so nothing to discuss?

It comes up in conversation as things in our past do so quite happy to discuss them. As the quote goes "the past is a foreign country, they do things differently there"

After 20 plus years together past relationships are so completely irrelevant that they barely come up.....it's not that they are off limits just insignificant.

There isn't anything we can't talk about with each other....however difficult or painful it may be. Understanding what has gone on before helps forge a way for a more positive future...whatever that may be

Does anyone feel discussing is similar to comparing the past to the current relationships?

Yes I do, and feel like there is a nostalgia of the ex if she wants to talk about it...

This is only my third relationship so not a lot to discuss.

We were friends first, nothing more for a few years. During this time we discussed our different relationships as mates do. One of the reasons we are good together is that we knew each other so well before we even started dating.

No. Unless we're pointing out how much better our relationship is to our past ones. Our past is part of what made us who we are today and is no threat.
