Some people's need to reinvent themselves on fab..

I have recently had occasion to message a couple of different women on here only to dicover that in both instances I was introducing myself to people that I already new off here, but under a different guise.

Why do some people feel the need to withdraw from fab only to re-emerge a short time (or in one case I've sited, almost instantly) after shutting down one profile and doing a (faux) disappearing act?

Personally I find it both confusing and a little disconcerting.

Aren't they best placed to answer that?

cahoots

I was on here briefly with a previous partner and I do find it interesting at the number of people (same people/original profiles) suddenly have totally different careers

I left to pursue a relationship. I came back as I missed the forums and needed to fill my time whilst I'm off work. Others will have different reasons.

They might be getting bombarded by unwanted nasty messages, or might in fact be men pretending to be women no longer able to keep up the pretence.

I don't know but it's really annoying. I've changed my filters now to block newbies as I keep getting messages from guys who I've already said "no thanks" to. They seem to set up a new profile every week. The thing is, they aren't going to be any more successful with a new profile because it's still the same person behind it?!

That is quite different and perfectly understandable. I am talking about people who shut down one profile and very soon or almost instantly there after register a new one with a different persona..

Incidentally, in the case of my experience, I can vouch for the fact that both individuals are authentic and not masquerading as fictious people or genders..

Agreed! I disappeared to avoid a malicious 'outer' so they couldn't do any more damage!

Hopefully I'm here for good with this profile - or until I fall madly in love with someone who doesn't want to swing ( ) and skip into the sunset with them!

I always avoid these profiles, they make me a little suspicious too .I find blocking newbies can help as some rejoin for a few days only to leave quickly. Its the profiles that leave and constantly come back moaning how fab never changes that amuse me.
