"Both a load of bollox
Message people and stop being lazy"
I think recieving a wink or fab is nice. Sometimes you send a nice message and it doesn't get read or deleted. |

Fab or a wink works for me.
Just let's you know someone might be interested in you. But all has to start somewhere and nerves do kick in at times
So come say hi |

Both are appreciated. But if someone winks, I assume they are interested - if they fab, I think they just like the pic. I didn't realize fabs were used like winks. I guess I've been missing something...

Fabs. I post a lot of pics, so its nice to know specifically which pics people like the most. A fab means nothing.
Someone fabbing all your pics is attention seeking. Someone fabs a couple of pics, they are the good ones. |

"winks" are there really for two reasons, one to acknowledge what you read in someone's profile and secondly to act as a gentle "soft" hello - as for fabbing pics, pretty much the same as above I guess and a show of admiration |

I've probably fabbed most of your pics because I genuinely think you have very good pics & I want you to know I appreciate them. I'm not attention seeking |

I mean if someone comes on who I've never seen before and just fabs all my pics.
It's normally a local "straight" bloke who can't message me |

Fabs are nice to get but I don't read anything in to them other then they like my picture and if I like a picture I will fab it, I just ignore winks and don't send them |

We like getting both but don't read too much into either. Occasionally if we like the profile of those that left them we may message back. Then the fab(s) or wink provide a useful opening for the message. |

We find that fabs are often used to try and get round our preferences, so although we look, we don't respond to them. Winks, we check out the profile then wink back if people interest us. Messages, we tend to respond to unless it's clear they haven't read the profile |

"erm.... how do you see whos fabbed you?
"
Click on your photo and it should say "fabbed xx times click here to see who" or something remotely along them lines
In answer to op question, for us fabs are flattering, winks we always tend to have a check through but can be a while before we respond as trying to get R to do anything takes nagging, messages are almost always responded to quickly.
I will, as others have said, fab a pic I like, wink a profile I like and am interested to know if they are bothered by us and usually message someone who really gets our attention or in response to a wink.
R tends to bypass winks altogether and either only fabs or messages |

Neither.
We switched off the fabbing facility and don't look at winks.
In the brief time we had fabbing as an option the vast majority were from people filtered out of messaging and there was a trend that they'd fab each and every pic - even the seriously average ones, in what I assume was a hope we'd get in touch.
What should be simply recognition of a good, interesting pic is more often than nothing more than a mechanism to attempt contact via the only means possible.
It would be interesting if filters blocked fabs in the same way they do winks and messages. I imagine the hot pics section would look a hell of a lot different!
There's nothing wrong with showing appreciation of a good image if that's the sole motivation though - it's down to the individual if that floats their boat/massages their ego/gets them off.

I would fab your pics for absolutely no other reason than that I think they are on the whole extremely good pictures. I have never fabbed pics for any other reason & if someone fabs my pics I'm pleasantly surprised but I don't take it that they want anything further from me. |
