Because I am uncomfortable with people ogling my body sexually without my consent while I'm doing something completely non-sexual.
It's one step away from "she deserved it because of the way she was dressed". My body is not a free-for-all sexual object. It's my home that I inhabit. And if I want to not wear a bra - because it's more comfortable - then I don't expect to have to deal with people treating me like a sex toy in the street - dressed up for their pleasure. |

The only time I have been out in public without a bra on since I was a teenager was once in my twenties when I had sunburn so bad I just couldn't stand the straps on my shoulders. I felt horribly exposed all day and the sidelong glances I kept getting (which I am aware I may have imagined) made me incredibly uncomfortable. There was nothing remotely titillating about the experience. It might be due to my boobs needing a bra but I have never gone without since and have no plans on that ever changing. |
