My doctor has decided to put me on a new contraceptive pill called zellata as I'm not allowed my previous pill because of gallstones. I'm not even finished my 1st pack yet & have 2 periods & it's still going!

Does anyone know if this is normal? It takes about 2wks to see docs & they'll prob tell me I'm impatient & give it time.

In my early 20s I'm sure the doc gave me some tablets which held off a period but not to be used all the time but can't think of the name, does anyone know what it's called? Got my birthday soon & going club & there's no chance I want to be bad. Missed a few club nights now cos of it I'm gutted.

If anyone can help that would be great

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Norethisterone, but you may want to run it past your doc if there's any chance it will interfere with your current contraception.

I went on Cerelle six weeks ago. First ten days fine and dandy then bled for four weeks straight. It's stopped now. Apparently i'm entirely normal and my doctor says it takes at least three months for your system to settle after a change of hormonal contraception.

Have you considered the implant? I'm on my third and haven't had a period for months! And If I do it is usually just a day of spotting.

That's a cheaper form of cerazette I think. If it is then I was on that for about 4 years and I bled for about 5 weeks then didn't get periods at all until I came off it. It's actually a really good pill in my opinion but I don't have experience with any others as I'm not allowed to take any other form of the pill. Stick with it, it'll settle soon.

That sounds familiar thanks. Will see chemist tomorrow or see if I can get into doctors. I'm that bad I've nearly blacked out a couple times, although it could be my anaemia kicking back in.

Thanks x

I'm a complete needle phobic so implant is a definite no go. Mirena coil was great for me for majority of the time but towards the end had a few hiccups so had it removed.

I've had a couple of different ones over the years. It's just so daft as planned meets & then when your like this can't do nowt. Plus I'm even Hornier so I'm climbing the walls myself

Suffolk/Norfolk border

For busy surgeries they usually offer a telephone consultation & that may help to elevate your worries & also ask about the Norethisterone tablets. Good luck x

Bypass the dr and just find your nearest sexual health clinic. R U Sure website has a good list of them and you can be seen quickly!

I have major issues with my gall bladder and never once have they mentioned contraception not working.

I know you are a needle fan but i would try the injection its more like a big pen than a needle like you are thinking and it makes life a lot easier

The lady who gave me this pill said the one I was on wasn't recommended for people with gallbladder problems. It's only cos I talk for England she found out as she was gonna give me the same pill. I've seen a friends arm who had the implant. I'd rather give birth than have that thing anywere near is. I'm a complete baby.

Not sure if it was when she had it in or removed. Made me feel ill.

I have the implant and it's great, I don't look at what they do and you can't feel it! My arm was a little bruised on the change over but now it's healed you wouldn't know I'd had anything done and as for the bleeding, what bleeding?

Near enough

I'm on my 3rd implant after having a reverse cycle (4 weeks on, 1 week off ) haven't bled in that time apart from after a particularly rampant weekend and i went to have everything checked and the doc said 'next time tell him to be more gentle' lol

You don't have to watch it being put in, I always look away

I have bled on all my iimplants and they gave me the pill to regulate and I still have regular heavy periods.

Op I'd maybe book in at a clinic as they tend tobe better at sorting this sort of thing out x

Google is your friend. . .

does say you can get irregular or more periods.

Blondie has the same when she started but it settled down after the first 2 months and now she only has 2 or 3 periods a year.
