"Are there any fellow triathletes here on this site? Training and competitions can be pretty dull and it might be fun to liven them up! "
I've competed at a good few, of all distances, including Ironman Switzerland a couple of years ago.. |

I'dike to do one. My run and cycle are slow but OK however my swin is stuck on breaststroke. Just can't do front Crawl good enough.
I'd also like to do and obstacle run but know I'd struggle getting up and over some of the walls etc. |

I'm becoming increasingly tempted to try one. I already have the fitness to do the cycling and running legs up to Olympic distance and while I'm not sure I could do them back to back that's also true of half ironman. If only I could swim rather than sink! |

Competed for almost 20 year's started back when race's used to be 15-20 people rocking up at 5am to a location, pay entry fee which was a few quid did one race which was £5.00.non of those around these days
Raced upto ironman distance, retired end of 2009. Thinking of making a return, but it's the time and expense.
Besides the late night club visits and early training and racing don't work well together.
Lots of hot sexy people in triathlon.
Sadly alot are posh twats with a huge sense of self importance.
Trust me I have been around the sport long enough to know it. Also it's not a sport for the working classes, well people who are involved in manual labour.
Forces, fire and police all seem to be very active due to the time they were given to train and race.
Not sure now since the recession?
It's turned into a corporate sport now dominated by banker's and brokers with huge amounts of cash to buy all the gear, expensive race entry fees.
All that said it's a fantastic sport and well done to anyone committed enough to train and race, I have actually met some really nice great people.
Just sad most races are seen as cash cow's for promoters.

I've done 3 sprint distance triathlons. Not very fast mind but the idea was to help get me fit and slowly it's doing it(I've gone from 19 stone to 14). I'm entered in the Liverpool one on the 26th of July and the Nantwich one in September too. |

"I started training but my Physio said no running for now. Looking at next year to do one now. " smash the swimming then. No pressure on legs really. That's how my mate got into it. He was an injured runner who took up swimming to stay fit.

I train with a triathlon club and one of my partners is an experienced triathlon. |
