Old pics on profile

How do people feel about a profile with pics dated from a long time ago (say 6 months or older)...? Is it a guide to use when reviewing a profile for authenticity or is it more a case of I've not changed no point updating?

I only use pics as a guide as I always meet socially first. Most people turn out to be better looking in the flesh anyway.

We update our pictures when we have new ones to add, but dont take down older ones (as they still seem very popular). Anyway who is to say a "recent" photo posted in the last six months wasn't actually taken ten years ago.

My suggestion is to let people run their profile as they see fit - it is your job to judge that profile according your own criteria, and move on if there is something you don't like.

People don't change much in 6 months, so who cares? OK, if they were all a number of years old I might wonder if there'd been a change. To he honest pics aren't important, good conversation and sense of humour makes people more attractive

I've seen some 6-7 year old pics on a profile. Not spectacular pics, that you'd want to keep, either, just normal, decent, but not knockout pics. It did put me off meeting.

Some of our pics are as recent as yesterday, some maybe 2 years old.they are pics, they are us,well mostly sweet.I don't believe anyone meets a pic,it's only an indication of what the person might be like.

The 6 months thing was meant as a guide to trigger discussion. The point of the query was more the second question regarding whether people use it to judge authenticity... However accept the principle that any 'new' picture could be taken at any time in the past

I just pop a varied selection of pics up. The more popular ones stay. I try to vary things now and then to keep it fresh.

Exactly I'm not saying having old pics is wrong... However before a meet opinions and judgements need to be formed as to whether you want to meet and do the majority or minority place any kudos on having more recent pics?

The date on the pic is only the date it was uploaded, it could be an old pic that has just been uploaded or a pic that someone deleted then re uploaded.

Out of interest, how do you find the date on a pic when viewing it?

Click on gallery on the desktop site and the dates are shown. Not sure about the mobile site though.

Some pics are a lot more than 6 months out of date. They are the misleading ones. I could put up pics of myself from 5 years ago when I was 2 stone lighter with blonde hair and less wrinkles. What a shock when I turn up looking like I do now.

I could upload a pic today that was taken 20 years ago, so you cant really guarantee anything by the date unfortunately

I think people probably don't change that much in 6 months, but if you're meeting then you should upload recent pics.

Exactly. I could go and take a 10 year old face pic from my facebook page then upload it on here today. The date shown will be todays so no one will know exactly how old a pic is on here.

My pics are a guide on what to expect. My body does not change dramatically in a year or so.

The point was if the profile has pics that were obviously uploaded a long time ago and nothing which could even possibly resemble recent...

Ask them for more recent pics if you're interested but as already discussed, you can't be exactly sure how old they are or move on if you're not sure.

I don't know about changing much , I've lost 3 stone in just over 6 months so my body has changed. I do agree that a good conversation and sense of humour are attractive features.

we don't meet people where there is an issue of aged pics. We have been unpleasantly surprised in the past by ppl who are clearly a decade older than their pictures.

Our latest one is from Saturday night and all of the others are on the date shown and within the last year. We keep everything recent or try to and face pics sent in messages are recent also. We'll be overhauling our pic collection soon too.

I've got a variety of date ranges on mine, some of the older ones I like so they're staying and I refresh it with new ones every so often.

I see no point in posting photographs that completely misrepresent me.

It's utterly pointless uploading inaccurate photos on a profile - it will only result in disappointment! I'm not sure why people do it or think they'll get away with it?

We have some from 3 or 4 years ago because we like them and they remind us of certain things, but we also have recent ones, our face pic ones we send out are usually a couple of months old.

My current avatar is my favourite pic and is 2 yrs old. I upload new pics from time to time, but the only thing that changes is the length of ma hair or the colour of ma goatee. If I'm arranging a meet, then an up to date one is always available for my victim to view
