Noticed lately quite a few on here seem to be getting fed up with the bulls**tters, timewasters, dreamers, wishers etc. etc. If it looks to good to be true.. THEN IT IS!

I think people have always been fed up with the bits you say about. Probably never change it and as I am sure the dedicated forum posters will add to this, you got a choice etc etc. blah, blah, blah lol
How many times have I seen that in posts . . .
I guess going for verified and supporter types is an option, you can always block those that aren't, well I think so, I am having a bit of an indecisive day today lol.

What bugs me is folk that put they are fed up of timewasters on their profiles. Whats a timewaster? If they are wasting your time then why meet? Surely you have to spend time getting to know someone a bit to know if they're worth you meeting. Is that wasting time?
I'm currently taking a break from swinging, does that make me a timewaster? What do they look like? |

we havent either as they havent yet turned up...lol
no seriously only the once a right pain in the arse couple who i think used us as a back up but had us hanging around the bars in newcastle waiting half the night while they were alledgedly having car trouble/etc etc etc |

Swinging is a lifestyle for anyone who is genuine, it may not be a big part of thier everyday life, they may only indulge themselves occasionally but it is still a lifestyle when they do.
So like every other aspect of our lives there are things we have to deal with which we would rather not see happening.
Long queues at the shops
Rainy days
Obnoxious neighbours
Incosiderate or incompetent drivers
Naughty kids
Government laws
Taxes
an endless list
And everyday we deal with such things in order to survive and spend some time on what gives us pleasure, our families, friends, home, entertainment, car, pets or just relaxing in the bath.
We put the things we don't like to one side and get on with enjoying the rest of our lives, we have to learn to do the same with our swinging fun, yes there are idiots and timewasters, biggots and abusive people, but don't let them get to you, just brush it out of your mind and get on with enjoying the good aspects of swinging. 
Puts soapbox away but not for long and goes back to watching Emerdale |

I am actually more miffed with those people who complain about the timewasters....
well if it so bad do something about it!! 
be that not rely on ya profile.. or change it... or go to clubs.... or go to socials... or heck go into chat....
in the end just bloody change something...  |

The forums are full of people moaning about the site lately, and most have alot of replys, i posted a thread the other day in the lounge stating 'we loved fabs' it got about 20 replys
The funniest thing is, do people actually think all these threads are read by the timewasters and will make them think twice about what they do...no i think not, they just have a bloody good laugh at them! |

I don't actually think that it is always about reading the forums, for some people just having somewhere to vent thier frustration is a good feature of the site and at the end of the day nobody has to read or contribute to them. |

quite agree having somewhere to vent is good, the problem is that like the thread yesterday about the poorly horse, some tend to see it as a good way to have ago at others which im sure puts alot off posting.

Sometimes you just have to laugh at timewasters though and I have bit of fun with them!
Yesterday I got a message from a guy from Liverpool saying, "I'm in Brum tomorrow hun".
I live near Derby, so about equi-distant from Brum and Liverpool,I reckon.
So I sent him a message, asking for his home address, so that I could pop round and burgle him whilst he was in Brum!
See, no one gets Really offended, and its banter, so time not really wasted, as I had a laugh, and he might put a little more thought in,next time he sends a message!

I think it depends on what anger they are venting for me.....personally I get bored with the same " I got this mail from this man and he said boo, how bad is that" type of venting anger threads,or at the moment the "timewaster" threads bore me as there seem so many..... but the likes of the thread you are talking about The crap day/week they have had that is totally different.
I do think it depends on who posts sometimes as to what reaction they will get though. |

I think it's also the way the person writes it to be honest. We all have crappy days, and yes, it's nice to vent your spleen. In my opinion if someone posts they've had a crappy day, the goldfish is sick and the sky is falling, they'll get a virtual hug from me and many others I'm sure.
What annoyed me personally about the thread yesterday with the sick horse was the implication from the poster that as she was a fundraiser for good causes, it was unfair she was having bad luck, and it was unfair because she wasn't Polish she was being denied a job, and unfair, and her husband worked so hard, and her horse was sick blah blah.
She may not have meant it that way, and yes, of course she's entitled to have a rant, just as I was to say all things are relative! |
