Look for a profile which has pictures of the quality and style you would like and approach the owner. Many might be happy to take photographs of you for free.

There are some great Pro Togs on Fab and then there are plenty of serious amateurs wanting to improve their skills on a win win basis.

There no doubt are others who will say anything to get involved in some sensual steamy lens stuff.

I have a full portable strobe set up and a head full of ideas but distance is not ideal unless you were fancying a hotel room boudoir set up?

Good luck!

Hubby is a pro photographer (and major international competition winner) with a full Elinchrom studio lighting set up. Whilst he may help someone out with a Time for Prints shoot if they are an exceptional model with good ideas, no 'quality' photographer is going to work for nothing.

There are, of course, plenty of 'guys with cameras' (claiming to be photographers) out there looking to get close to women. The reults may vary from OK to truly dreadful.

If anyone wants a serious shoot get in touch; but it won't be free. Plenty of example photos but can't post here because of confidentiality.

Great photos of a sexy lady! You show your hubby's skills well and I can't imagine anyone being disappointed by his work. I guess he also had to learn and to recognise what type of art his subjects are looking for. Everyone is different once you get beyond the well lit and posed shots. All the fun of the chase but with a lens rather than that other extending male object! Give it a go is what I say to anyone wanting private shots. They must be better than you can take yourself whatever happens?

But then this isn't the place to display a photography portfolio. I save that for my own website.

I was merely pointing out that it's pointless saying that peoples profile pictures aren't very good because it's not a portfolio. It's a sex site.

If I wanted to put a photograph of myself naked on my profile here, I wouldn't bother whipping out the studio lights, the camera, and finding a photographer friend to push the button.

Likewise if I'm recording a moment while shagging. I'm going to reach for my phone cam, not my top of the range dSLR and five grands worth of lighting.

Didn't mention quality of the gear - was talking about quality of the image. Surely all photographers have an eye for a good image and wouldn't post one they thought was sub standard?

Depends why you're posting it. I have hundreds of images on my Facebook page of moments that happen in my life that I wouldn't present to anyone as a "portfolio".

As a professional photographer should I not show any personal pictures unless they're of the standard of the images that took hours, days or weeks of hard work to pull together?

Interesting point....however on fab people present themselves as they wish to be seen. If someone claims to be an English teacher one might expect accurate spelling and precise grammar. If someone claims medical training then one might expect them to know the difference between a cock and a coccyx. Similarly it doesn't really matter whether someone on fab is a "professional photographer" or not - but if they make a point of claiming that is what they are then one expects them to take some professional pride in their photographs - even if they are just snaps.

.....and sorry to the OP for hijacking the thread.

It just doen't work that when when you're essentially shooting hard/softcore porn of yourself.

Although people like to make shit up all the time. I get people messaging me waxing lyrical about how amazing the bondage picture in my profile is, how it shows such skilful use of light and composition. The fact it, is was a phone picture in a completely dark club with no lights and taken by someone who was just holding the phone up to record her ropework for next time. Yet because I'm a photographer... people tell me that the picture on my profile is amazing...

If people want to find out what my photography is like, then I'm more than happy to send them a link to my professional portfolio and credentials. But there are two reasons I won't be displaying portfolio images on here:

1. It's very hard to shoot naughty pictures of yourself to profile standard.

2. I don't want to put pictures of other people (models) on my singles profile.

Have to agree with Wasp Hunter it is hard getting shots of yourself which you like, Kim does my pics but my style is totally different to hers so it doesn't portray my photography in anyway.

Lol on glow sticks with right lens can get some great shots, plus a lot is in the processing stage, from simple cropping to knowing when black and white wuth hints of body tease much more than a very bright clinical shot.

Only done semi probshoots for one camgirl see camfreebay dot com but you learn that the edit phase is nany hours more than the 1 hour shoot

Plus a big difference between a boutique shoot and cramming yourself into a premier inn room

I love this debate, I have mentioned this before to this couple, your not allowed to put images of other people on this site, you or your partner have to be in them,

Also why does a professional photographer have to put on amazing images of them selves. many models i know have images of them selves with out makeup etc on which are selfies because it show them selves when they are relaxed and 'real'

Because no professional photographer will embarrass themselves by posting substandard rubbish. Professionals are professional because they take pride in their profession.

The amusing thing here is the importance placed on the person being a "professional photographer". Making good erotic pictures doesn't just require the right kit or qualification. Pros specialising in taking pics of plates of food, landscapes, products, babies, corporate facilities way be "professional photographers" but they're unlikely to produce anything better than a kinky fucker with a good eye and camera phone lol

I went to art college, have done hours of life drawing, and been priviledged to enjoy a few of these sessions myself. In the end its all about making the person feel comfortable, building trust, and either blending into the scenery or being part of the buzz, depending upon the client, but above all... its about having an eye for the erotic

I would also question the assumption that the best candidates would charge money. I think you'll find plenty of people, like myself, who see the whole thing as a reciprocal arrangement that pays for itself. I really don't think this is a case of "you get what you pay for".

In the end the real question is whether you'd prefer an erotic experience with ok images (a kinky amateur), an ok experience with erotic images (a professional photo shoot), or both (ME!!!) That's enough shameless self promotion for today

atlantisEVOLUTION. Stoke.

These days everybody who has an S6 or an iphone believes they are a photographer.

Everybody with a ProSumer camera believes they are a photographer.

Everybody who buys a top of the range Nikon or Canon 'seriously' believes they are a 'professional' photographer.

Search for boudoir photography and look for a high street time served brand.

I'm guessing that the type of photography you want is erotic and quite possibly pornographic. It's actually not that hard to find 'really professional time served' photographers that will undertake this work for you. It will cost more but is well worth it.

However. If you simply want 'snaps' then there are a billion cold cameras waiting to warmed up by the enthusiasm of 'I'm a photographer by virtue of the fact that I own a camera' brigade.

Good luck - hope you find the right person.

This made John laugh as he don't do bad earning a living by being paid for his pics/films & as never had any formal training just 20 years being chucked in the deep end, anyone who gets paid are Pro.

Stick the camera on a pile of books.

Use the self timer.

As a real-life pro photographer this is actually how I take selfies when I can't be bothered to get the tripod out of the car.

This is a great thread because it airs views across the spectrum, what exactly is a Pro tog...some one who earns a living from their photographs.

Some spend years learning and increasing their knowledge and in theory are better on paper, some pick up a camera and have an artist flair and shoot stunning picks...who can say who is the best choice?

A proven tog will have a list of refs as long as your arm, anyone wanting or thinking of using a paticular photographer simply check them out...simple.

I know of other togs like me on here who are genuine people who earn a living through shooting media of some sorts, some have degrees and some have no formal qualifications yet all earn a crust.

Photography is like art...some will hate your work and others will love it, we as photographers just do it personally for the pure reason its our hobby and if we can paid all the better.

Check out various boudoir pics but keepin mind those shot in studios will look different in your own home unless you can catch the light right.

who says you have to be 'professional'? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you are planning a wedding, would you simply look up pro photographer on Fb or google and throw a few grand at the first to come up in your area?

No matter who the person is behind the camera, review their images for your self, and what does it matter if they are a pro or an enthusiast with a good eye (who may even take better pics than the so called pro). If you want to take professional looking boudoir or similar, then the most professional aspect is going to be bonding with the subject and getting the best from them, as well as knowing your tech, whether you are the hobbyist or pro.

This thing about 'pros' putting inferior quality pics on their fab accounts, well anyone who says their images should be top grade studio work, probably doesn't know much about what is involved in taking them, because it would be very hard indeed to take such photos of your self. It simply doesn't work like that.
