Is there a certain protocol to messaging people on here? Do you ignore messages that are too polite? I'd like to think that people would appreciate manners but what do you guys look for?

Just be yourself and don't try to tailor your messages to please everyone. We all like different things in a first message.

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

There are lots of threads in the archives offering generic advice on messages.
