I guess it's another taboo, a risk that makes sex a little more thrilling. I play safe personally, however to make sex thrilling I'd probably have sex on cliff edge or something.....  |

We don't swap because of the fear of contracting something even with contraception, worry of breakages.
However, we are looking for the day when you can buy a mobile test unit that would show a result in seconds. Then the flood gates would be wide open. lol ??
But for now, It's a fantasy that we come close to doing, especially after a few drink and getting carried away and high on sex emotions. |

Lots of people who smoke know the risk of cancer and other diseases but are willing to take the risk. However it's generally considered polite not to smoke in the presence of non smokers to avoid putting them at risk. If you want to take the risk of bareback sex then do it - just always be perfectly honest with the non barebackers and give them the opportunity of deciding whether they want to take the the risk of having even protected sex with you. |

As long as it's legal and consensual then go for it. People accept different levels of risk in all walks of Life, swinging is no different. Get tested regularly, I hope your partners also get tested regularly, and I hope that everyone involved stays healthy.

Entirely up to those involved. Although I think anyone who does on a regular basis probably has a responsibility to make prospective partners aware, so that they can make an informed decision regarding their own health before deciding to play with them.
But then that's only my opinion, ymmv. |

How does it point out those that are 'more likely'?
The person that has had BB with a limited number of playmates is more likely to have contracted something compared to someone who has played "safely" with many many others on what basis?
Toys have been covered, hands cleansed, oral covered etc. even if they have not played BB - does the risk not increase the more often you do something - multiplied by the measures put in place, at some point those that put measures in place but play much more frequently will be a more likely risk than the infrequent BB player won't they?  |

I don't do BB with anyone I'm not fluid bonded with (i.e. my two long term partners). I don't even do unprotected oral with anyone other than my longer term partners.
If people do BB with anyone other than *their* long term partner(s) then I'd prefer them to let me know up front so that I can choose not to meet them. |

The people i have done it with have always made it clear from the start that it was their wish. Then once meeting them socially we would discuss it and come to an agreement over it. I enjoy the feel of the condoms.
I also find the idea of condoms sexy - protecting your partners health and caring for them etc. I don't watch bareback porn for the same reason - I can't find it sexy anymore when I'm so radical about sexual health and consent issues.
I do enjoy latex as well, but that's totally different. I enjoy heavy rubber clothing which is nothing like the thin and barely-there feel of condoms. |

Actually if you spin the barrel the weight of the bullet means it will always be at the bottom so there is no chance of getting shot. The people who own handguns and play Russian Roulette know this and know they can't get shot, it's basically a trick to freak people out. Of course if you didn't spin the barrel before pulling the trigger, then the bullet is one place closer than last time...
Anyway, not meaning to hijack the thread. But we do love it when someone compares BB to Russian Roulette and then someone argues it's not and the whole debate starts again.
