Maybe this is just me but, why do people on here seem to struggle so much to construct a sentence.
I've just had someone message me saying "where u from?" followed by "fuck my wife for me"
I can't begin to state how much thongs like this annoy me...rant over |

Well it is so nice to see such a high brow forum post? Also nice to hear the OP is in such demand that he is able to sort his fucks, through sentence construction, giving us all hope in finding some fun.The only problem which we may encounter is deciding to have the English lesson pre or post sex? |

I have to say, text talk or poorly written messages and profiles are a turn off for me. I also like punctuation and people who know the difference between 'there' and 'their'.

Sorry all, I didn't think this would get as much attention as it appears to have done.
My annoyance is partially to do with the fact that it doesn't take long to introduce yourself or even ask how they are. Instead you seem to have cavemen simply saying "You want sex".
based on the amount of responses I'm getting I feel as though I've turned into a slightly more mellow version of katie hopkins |

I agree with your OP.
I'm giggling at the thought of a mellow Katie Hopkins. |

Op this is the daily life of couples and single females. Although some will say "It's a sex site stop being so pretentious!" intelligence is sexy too as well as a good conversation. |

Now you know why women sometimes get hacked off on here!
About 3/4 of the messages that we get are similar - "Wot u up 2?", "Wanna fuck?" etc...
Day after day.....
Thank goodness I'm Bi, and am able to have nice conversations with other women - I think it would drive me insane if I were straight and this was all that I got...!

Oh, the irony... Seriously, if you are going to post a topic about this then you really should check yourself first...
Just saying... |

Some of it is just down to minimal effort that people invest in their conversations - if it's a portent of their bedroom efforts, then they are probably doing us a favour, by revealing this early on.
My spell checker on a small screened device sometimes changes words, so that the meaning goes astray, from what I'd intended it to be. When I'm tired, I don't check enough, and things creep in that make little sense.
I do wonder what it would be like to converse with these people in real life, those who appear to struggle to speak properly or effectively. Maybe it's just little more than caveman grunts. Worst thing would perhaps be that they wouldn't understand us, in some instances. |

Yes some may be unable to. But sex-wise. Very good. If you ask couples or females their preference regarding well educated but worthless in bed or uneducated but good in bed.
I presume you know the score. Without shadow of doubt.
Yes some women are very fussy about poor and unconstructive sentence. Remember all fingers are not equal |

My husband cannot spell, he is intelligent and a big hit when we play out - no one has ever challenged him to a spelling bee before taking their pants off for him.....yet |

Strange really. We judge our politicians based in part upon what they will do for education, yet many of us are ready to deride and mock a fab poster who suggests that a poor education might be a turn off for him. Surely fab is about choice: his choice might not be yours or ours, but why should that be a reason to take the piss? |

Fair enough - and that in itself tells the world something about you which will help them make their choice. |

Would that be that I don't take shit written by strangers on an online forum too seriously?

It's the same reason as people get all up a height when people say 'professional'; people are only bothered if it's something they're insecure about themselves. It is important to me how someone comes across in messages when our first contact with each other is online. If I met in clubs then I dare say it would be less of an issue, but I don't. So I'd entirely agree with the OP that it's a significant factor for me.
(However taking the piss out of the original post having a great typo is entirely legit ) |

We're sure that none of it is taken too seriously - unless of course you are trying to get between someone's legs, in which case their choice might be significant. |

To be honest I don't get your point. If somebody is so highly strung about the odd typo I don't think I'm too bothered about trying to get between their legs for light hearted fun. Life's too short.
I'm happy to debate the finer points of grammar, but only when naked and soaked in baby oil.

It's not about the spelling for me, being a terrible speller I can over look that, it's the text speak I can't stand. I want to meet someone who can mentally and physically stimulate me, so 'u ok bbe' is not going to cut it sadly! |

I hear you loud and clear. It's not nice and it does create a bad impression, but on all fairness, it's 2015 and more modern people do have their own text speak ( If that's the correct expression ) so we stuck with it knowing it's only going to get worse.
10 yrs from now it'll be just a grunt sent directly to your ears, no phone or PC required and even that will be spelt wrong. |

Plus the rules of grammar are constantly changing as this article proves so sticking to old school rules from 30yrs ago is a bit silly because the grammar Nazi look like a dinosaur.

Trust me there's a lot more articles that that one.
Right; that's enough of this boring thread.

The inability to construct a sentence, or be able to spell is an instant no-no from me.
The thing about not being able to spell, is that your computer will underline everything in red for you anyway, so there's really no excuse.
If you can't hold an Internet conversation, I can only imagine the depth of conversation in the flesh must be staggeringly insightful and interesting.
Thonk about it |

From people I know there's no obvious link between how good their company is to how well they write. Authors aren't generally known for their outgoing nature. |

Well of course people are free to invent their own grammar and to save a few seconds by using text speak...
... just as I am completely free to ignore them and seek somebody who can stimulate my mind...!
On the plus side, they can then use those few saved seconds to use their right hand for some other exercise that will make up for the atrophy caused by not writing nicely....
