I try to reply to every message simply because i feel it's the polite thing to do, even if I'm not interested I will inform them.
It would be nice if people would extend the same courtesy sometimes as while I can take a no, everybody has different tastes after all, it would be nice to be told so
anybody else feel the same way? |

general consensus seems I am wrong then
perhaps I should just ignore the people I'm not interested in?
is that what you feel is the 'done thing'?
just curious really, this wasn't an accusation |

It might not be ignorance it might just be practicality.
Like you I answer all emails, even if it is a polite no thank you, but then I receive a low number and can deal with it without it taking over my day/evening.
If I got, say 50, a day I might take a different view. I'm sure there are plenty of females and couples who get way more than that!
At the end of the day we are all here for fun. Answering endless emails with a polite no thanks isn't really it. |

The problem is that, whereas most blokes on here will get a handful of messages so can reply to them if they want to, the women on here can get hundreds of messages within a couple of hours.
My view is, just be grateful if you get any replies at all and keep everything polite. |

I always reply but get so few it's hardly a particularly onerous task! |

Not really, if a person doesn't reply then they aren't interested, simple really, move on. |

ye gods this subject has been done to death. no reply=no thankyou!! this is stated in the site FAQ's.
My time is my own it is not for anybody else to dictate how I spend it, so when I get 1-2 word messages, messages from guys several hndred miles away, couples in their 50's etc etc, all people who if they had read my profile would know that they wee wasting their time, then I just delete and block instead of wasting my own time.
also when I have replied to messages that sort of meet my criteria but Im still not interested, Iv had but why not? or just plain rude responses, so now it is incredibely rare that I respond to anybody that I am not interested in.
I also dont understand why guys seem to think that an inbox with no thanks messages in is in anyway better that no messages!!!!
and breathe.... |

I guess it's true males won't receive even half as many emails and so have more time to reply
I can understand that, hadn't thought of it that way
if I get ignored I just usually take it as a no anyway haha
each to their own |

Yeah it's nice to do that - until you get someone dickish who doesn't like being told no. Some days you're just not in the mood to be told why they wouldn't fuck you anyway, even though they approached you. |

The problem with replying is it removes the site warning not to message someone again and then you get follow up messages.
I've even had messages saying 'we spoke a month ago, how are you?' trying to start a new convo, when all we had was two messages - one 'hello' and one me saying 'no thanks'. |

as iv said I'm relatively new to the scene and asking to find out opinions
but I fully appreciate why now |

I think the problem with it, is some here get hundreds of messages, they would be spending their whole days replying. |

Maybe you don't get many messages because people read the bit in your profile where it says you're not looking for meets at the moment and only here for the forums, so they don't want to bury you under mountains of junk mail.

if they send a face pic and in our age range we always reply even if it is a polite no. If they are out of our range or no pic we delete. MrsH has her own profile and struggles with the 100+ emails she gets every day!! |

That's a good attitude to have
Try not to worry too much about how other people behave, not everyone replies,it's not personal to you
Good luck |
