As a guy it constantly annoys me when u send a nice polite and friendly message and don't get a reply or just deleted. Isnt it just common curtesy to reply even to say NO THANKS ??

We reply to all messages ourselves but if you check the FAQs it says no reply should be treated as a polite no thanks due to the volume of messages that people get.

We will always politely decline, it is rude to ignore but when the same person keeps asking and we've already said no - that's when we ignore.

Here we go again.

Yes, it is fine to be ignored. Would not be the case if so many of the rejected took it well. They don't, so to avoid abuse many just don't reply.

If I want a reply I always ask for one and reassure that I will keep it like a man. An unattractive one, but still a man

No it isn't, its accepted as a no thanks if no reply. I usually reply and often I get abuse in return for my no thanks. Nobody owes you a reply, you are like spam, do you reply to every bit of that in your email inbox then? Surely that would be polite, they've taken the trouble to enquire about your erection status, surely a no thanks is better than delete?

Are you sure you wouldn't be tempted to ask why?

In a ideal world yes.

But this is Fab world and you have to remember some people get a lot of mail and cant be expected to spend 30 mins shifting through it every time they log in.

That's not being rude that's just the reality of things on here.

As a couple it constantly annoys us when guys send what they think is a friendly polite message, but clearly haven't read our profile,so aren't what we are looking for.point this out to the sender and we are accused of being up ourselves,or told by the sender they didn't see that bit so now we find it best to delete n ignore those that aren't what we are looking for

It is standard fab etiquette that no reply is just a no. Women can get 100's of messages a day, if they were to respond to them all then they'd never get a chance to play!!

Read the help sections on here, fab back this up.

Best advice is to delete all your sent messages and eventually you forget who you sent messages to.

In all things, time is a great healer

And that's when the trouble starts. I am honest with men if they ask why, I tell them. No man seems to enjoy heating that he's been hit far too often with the ugly stick, can't understand it

That's right as single women are sought after lol.

I've also said many no thank yous and had some pure abuse back, easier to ignore as less abuse

"I wouldn't ask why, I'd just move on"

Sorry to be brutal but you cannot expect a reply. And why should you expect one? When you send a message, you are a stranger to the recipient. Why should they feel obliged to respond to you?

It is not discourteous. Do you feel obliged to respond to junk mail? Do you feel obliged to chat with cold callers? Your expectation of a reply might be considered discourteous.

OP look at it this way

Do you respond to every piece of junk mail that you dont want posted through your letter box but still does get sent? or do you just throw it in the bin?

What you deem polite and reasonable isnt what someone else might deem polite and reasonable.

If you are a single guy that is the kind of treatment you expect. Best Thing is to take it on the chin.

I have all but given up on here and most sites to be honest

As always when this subject is discussed we make the exact same point.

Our profile makes it perfectly clear we are not looking for single guys. Not that it stops them.

If someone cannot show us the courtesy of actually reading our profile then why do they expect a courteous response?
